Hi,i'm from singapore and have 3 bikes,gsxr1000k2,zx12r(grey)year2000and virago 535.I love my zx12r but having problems at idling. The rmp needle does not stay stable like the gsxr.I fixed 'techlusion'TFI unit.Cant get the correct setting. Can anyone who is having the tfi suggest any setting to overcome this problem.I am riding a kawasaki bikes for 18 years and i am still loving it.Always a kawasaki rider. Thanks

From what I've read everyone seems to say the TFI unit is not very good. Maybe a PC3R?

i assume u have an aftermarket pipe pannerch? many, if not most, pipes cause "loping" at idle on the 12. seems u can largely get rid of it with a PC3, or jsut raise ur idel rpm and it shoudl smooth out. of course, if u still ahve a stock exhaust, i guess it must jsut be a problem with the TFI or its settings.

Pannerch, Welcome to this board. This has been discussed much and depending on that you have on your bike depends on what is needed to be done. If it is all stock, then the #1 thing to do is carefully sync your throttle bodies using a large gauge so it will be perfect. We ahev also found that carefully adjusting the TPS will help a lot. My suggestion is to do these 2 things, but when setting your TPS, make the adjustments at about 800 RPM and then reset you idle to 1,000 to 1,200 rpms, this way, you have extra fuel coming into the injectors and not only will help the lope, but avoid the off idle stalling that can happen from time to time!

ditch the Techlusion box, it sucks, I had one, Mark Doebeck put it on my bike itsself. It has a purpose, but it wasnt what I needed, go to a PCII/IIIr, set the throttle postion sensor, and sync the throttle bodies. Get a good map...you should be good....the 2000 ZX12R will still be kind of abrupt in the on /off throttle department, due to the round cam on the throttle bodies......then B model went to a ecentric shaped cam...instead of the round.....JMO.....
