Elemental Tires Stock tires suck. Not really good enough for the weight of the car, so they only last 20k miles.
Snow tires are impossible to find in stock size. Had to go +1/-1 from stock of 215/70 R16 to a 225/60 VR16. Now you might notice that the snow tires are rated VR. You're prolly saying 'wtf?? A v-rated snow tire?' Yep, the only tire that works on the Element is the Goodyear Eagle Ultra-Grip which is used on Crown Vic police cars all over the country in the winter time. State patrol uses something with a much less agressive tread, this is for the County Sheriff cars. Not exactly inexpensive, but is prolly a better, long lasting tire than the stock tire ever thought about being. Overall diameter is within 1/4 inch, so not too worried about speedo being out the window.
Premium Performance Radial Designed For Exceptional Winter Traction
Proven in the Alps where winter weather is at its worst, Eagle Ultra Grip GW2 features a directional design. With its state-of-the-art appearance, it?s the winter tire choice for luxury performance sedans and sports cars.
#1 rated winter tire as reported in the November 2002 issue of a leading consumer magazine.

weird how much snow tires have changed. to my eyes, these new, very non-blocky, snow tires dont look like they should work worth shit. they got hardly any lugs to dig into the snow! yes i'v driven a coupel cars with new style tires and they were awesome compared to the odl tires i used to use.
