me personally, no. but....

around here the cops will issue a wreckless driving ticket the immediate second they see the front tire come off the ground. only one person i know out of many had a perfectly clean driving record so he got it downgraded to a negligent driving. everyone else though, it stuck.

I know someone who went to court over one here in Iowa, and because there was a median inbetween they lowered it from wreckless driving to some goofy fine and nothing on his record. I believe in iowa you have to be endangering someone else? not 100% though.

I was caught ridding a Wheelie by a Maryland State Trouper. When he got out of his car he said " Are you a stupid Fuck, don't you look in your mirror before you do stupid shit like that ". To make a long story short I walked away with a warning. My wife said that I am a stupid fuck and a lucky fuck!!!!!!

dale may have video of this on his site... on a day ride in teh seattle area a coupel years back we had one poor sod pool a big fat wheelie smack infront of a cop, but he didnt see the lights flashing behind him so he kept carrying it. BUT!... he was let off without so much as a warning. was his birthday. helluva present for the life of me i dont understand the attitude many people hodl against wheelies. Most fo the time they're quite safe and stable. even when u go down, it's only the rider that suffers injuries, and even then it's generally quite light as long as u'v got gear. of course, if ur wheeling in a crowded downtown area and take out pedestrians, that's an other story and ur a stupid fuck. but still, how often do simple wheelies by experienced riders go wrong?

Got my very first ticket, Reckless Driving, not to be confused with "Hazardous" driving. Punishable by maximum of 10 yrs in jail and $10,000 fine in the Great State of Arkansas in 1980. Good thing I was only 15 at the time , Judge gave me 30 days probation.

In Virginia you will get two tickets- reckless driving (court appearance mandatory) and a new one they are using frequently now called "exhibition of speed". You ability to control the bike in a wheelie is limited regardless of skill level and the judge doesn't like arguments of the opposite... ask me how I know

DUDE!!! DROP THE CRACK PIPE! Not only are you lying about riding wheelies, if my brain recalls I believe I was behind you when you did a wheelie while PASSING A SITTING COP! Remember? Hum, lets see he came flying past me at about a buck and the only reason he let you go was cause Mike and Roger ran.

I never ride wheelie's...LMAO

I am out with the guys after shooting shit at the local bike hangout. We hit the highway for a high speed buzz. We then have to go through one NJs big cities, on the main ave (three lanes each way). We start playing light to light. Basically its set the front wheel down to stop for the next light. OK, we hit about three lights when I decided to go balls to the wall on the next stop. Light turns Kawasaki green, I am in the air immediately and stay there through the first intersection. As I am passing through I glance to my left and see a squad car with two officers parked just behind the corner building, and I can see the drivers eyes looking right at me. I immediately say to myself BUSTED, Fuck-it. So stay in the air. As soon as the driver looks in my eyes, I see him poke his partner, as to say "Check it out". I look in my mirror with that fucked up feeling of "Here comes the lights and drama". To my surprise NOTHING. How cool is that!

around here CHiPs will kill you for wheelie'ing. As in impound bike, take you to jail, bubba awaiting trial for 2 years makes you his bitch, gives you aids, THEN you lose your license & a ton of money...

twisties man, twisties....do wheelies only on the backroads out in the sticks...not as much fun, but the alternative...

If you are wheeling on an open road what is the avg speed you figure? Are you absolutely speeding if you are doing a wheelie? I can't get the wheel up more that a foot or two so I don't really know. Too skeered.

yes...on this bike you can exceed the national speed limit in 1st gear. Just about ANY wheelie will get you busted....but those 140-150mph wheelies...

...now those get hairy!

Damn, I feel like Evil Knievel just going 140 mph! I jumped out of a plane a couple times and I was telling one of the instructors how scared I was. He said " yea I was like that too. Enjoy it while it lasts because pretty soon you won't feel like that any more." This reminds me of that. Just starting out it seems like there is so much to accomplish and it is easy to feel so far behind.

I'm a cop. Did a stand-up for some girls in the car next to me. Next thing I know a cop is driving next to me pointing to the ground and the side of the road. I pulled over, and he said "nice wheelie, you had it going for awhile." I got a reckless driving ticket, which is of course a MCA(madatory court appearence). Got a lawyer and got off with 12 months probation and a drivers safety class. Nothing was ever put on my record. The crap thing about it, was the cop said he didn't even see me. He was driving the opposite direction on the highway when his 6yr old daughter pointed me out. I knew that chicks dig wheelies, but that's a little R-kelly don't ya think.
