His speed in the eighth is more than most bikes will run in the quarter.
That's impressive.

I wonder if it's possible to bring in more power earlier in the run to get the 330' and 660' down more. Or if it's pretty much at the limit of the wheelbase now because of wheelies. It's obviously got much more power available earlier in the run from looking at the trap speeds. Just curious.

wow, what a day, temps were over 100 degrees, good hot breeze lol, more motorcycles than I have ever seen in one place, looked like more Harleys than anything, and more were very custom and done well, those guys have some money wrapped up in some of those bikes.

I wished I would have walked up to the top row of the stands and taken a picture of how many bikers and people attend, we pulled in right off the highway and the line started there, drove beside Texas Motorplex on the small road, turns to the right and we're thinking, well the gate should be right here, nope cars all the way to the next turn, stop and go with more stop than go lol, get to the next turn and the traffic continues as far as we can see, I don't know how long it took just to get inside but we had to be close to the end of the track before reaching the entrance gate.

So we are in pea gravel when we enter the Texas Motorplex, I was thinking Black Angus isn't going to like this, a half mile to the staging lanes, so we wind thru the bikes people and biker clubs to end up close to Rickey Gadsons trailer, we get to the staging lanes and notice 3 trucks and trailer parked IN the lanes, asked the attendant if we can park in there and he lets us, he asked me if I was "the old man" from Texas Raceway and I just laughed and said yeah.

We were joking around waiting to get in saying we will call Rickey and get him to come get us so we can park by him, well we ended up parking right behind him! Parked in the fenced off lanes was unbelievable!!! The Motorplex was packed and we are parked 300 feet from the starting line lol.

Got to make a run and the bike didn't want to shift to 3rd, got the other land and spun in 5th lol, best I could run was 8.90's.

Went over to Rickeys trailer, there he was, the legend himself talking to two guys as he was reading an old motorcycle magazine, he got thru looking at the photo's, closed it, the magazine was Black Biker lol, I remember reading Black Biker in the early 80's, had a "X" pipe in it for the CBX, I knew that was a cool magazine hehe.

I've seen allot of comments about two guys over the last few months, how they helped people, how friendly they are. Everything I've seen about Rickey is true, he seems so down to earth and genuine, signing lots of autographs and talking to "anyone" who walked up to him.

Getting to talk to a legend like Rickey was an honor, glad to meet you in person Rickey Gadson!

Now the other guy, I didn't know who Chris Jones was, saw a guy prepping Rickeys turbo so I asked, are you Chris? He replied yes, talked with him a few minutes, Chris is a perfect fit for the Gadson pit, such a very friendly person to be around, and a future "legend" to the sport of drag racing. Very nice meeting you Chris Jones! Two class acts..... btw, thanks for the tip on the shifter, I made it down the track every time after taking your advice.

Good to see the locals too, RuRu, Intra, Richcraft1, and other local drag racers. Fun day at the Motorcycle Plex.
