2022 Suzuki GSX-S1000GT

2022 Suzuki GSX-S1000GT

Suzuki says:

Introducing the all-new 2022 Suzuki GSX-S1000GT. Suzuki Motor USA, LLC (Suzuki) is thrilled to unveil a high-performance motorcycle with a soul of a champion that delivers features and technologies enhancing any long-distance sport tour. A high-performance, yet comfortable motorcycle with optional attractive integrated side cases (or standard as part of the GSX-S1000GT+ model) and a sophisticated, avant-garde look that creates its own category – Grand Touring – ready to take the rider any distance with speed and comfort.

The GSX-S1000GT’s total performance is transformative, breaking new ground for a sport touring motorcycle, and the new SUZUKI mySPIN connectivity application integrates with a large, full-color TFT instrument panel to provide easy access to a wide range of smartphone information and entertainment options augmenting any ride.

Using legendary and proven GSX-R engine architecture, the 999cc four-stroke, liquid-cooled DOHC in-line four superbike engine delivers smooth, consistent power throughout a wide and linear powerband.

The GSX-S1000GT’s engine offers multiple updated components to best deliver performance where a Grand Touring rider demands it. Enhancements to the engine include revised intake and exhaust camshafts, cam chain tensioners and valve springs, as well as a redesigned clutch and gearshift components.

All updated to take the best aspects of GSX-R championship-winning engineering and apply it to the real-world demands of riders seeking spectacular performance and tractability for high-mileage tours on challenging, exciting roads. All delivering an even broader, smoother torque curve with fewer peaks and valleys. These components also help enhance performance versus the prior model while delivering full Euro 5 emissions compliance.

Refined engine performance is managed by expanded Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (SIRS) technology, including electronic cruise control, five modes of adjustable traction control* and bi-directional clutchless quick-shifting, helping augment sport rides on Sunday mornings as well as cross-continent tours. SIRS is rounded out with an updated Low RPM Assist system and Suzuki’s Easy Start System, providing improved starting control and a simpler starting procedure.

The strong twin-spar aluminum frame and braced swingarm help deliver agile handling and great road-holding ability. Visually attractive, the new trellis-style sub-frame design creates secure attachment points for the high capacity 36L side cases, while allowing for a more comfortable passenger seat.

The GSX-S1000GT’s suspension control will also easily adapt to the needs of two-up riding, thanks to its fully adjustable, inverted KYB fork and easy-to-adjust rear shock. The dual, ABS-equipped**, radial-mounted, four-piston, Brembo-front brake calipers and 310mm floating rotors help provide the confident, controlled stopping performance needed when travelling with a passenger and gear on an extended ride.

Comfort is vital for miles of effortless grand touring performance, and the GSX-S1000GT is ready to conquer high performance rides of any distance. The new cast-aluminum handlebar is wider than the prior bike’s handlebar, and is shaped and positioned for a comfortable reach, delivering the proper leverage to guide the GSX-S1000GT on any road. The handlebar’s special rubber mount damps vibration while the footrests have durable rubber inserts to damp vibration to the rider’s and passenger’s boots. The GT emphasizes long ride comfort as well as exhilaration.

The rider and passenger seats have a new sporty design maximizing comfort on long rides, and both seats sport a new cover material that balances grip with freedom of movement. The rider’s seat-shape further enhances freedom of movement, while the pillion seat design maximizes passenger comfort and integrates well with the new grab-bar design.

Despite their spacious storage capacity, the GT’s large-capacity side cases (Optional on the GSX-S1000GT, and standard on the GSX-S1000GT+) feature a compact design that integrates seamlessly with the motorcycle’s sharp, futuristic styling. With 36L of storage capacity, each side case may hold most full-face helmets. To further integrate them to the motorcycle, an optional color-matched side case painted panel set provides a perfect match to the GSX-S1000GT body colors. Optional locksets are available that may be set so the motorcycle’s ignition key opens the side case lid or disengages the quick-release mechanism. Side cases and mounts, color-matched painted panel sets, and side case lock sets are standard on the GSX-S1000GT+.

The GSX-S1000GT puts a new face on sport touring performance and comfort. The striking and original face of the GT begins with a raked nose, while a pair of horizontally arranged LED headlights, V-shaped position light, new mirror design, and side-mounted LED turn signals fashion a unique Grand Touring appearance that is distinctively Suzuki. The GT’s daring styling continues into the standard side cases and optional touring windshield for a fully integrated appearance.

The GSX-S1000GT’s instrument panel uses a new-generation 6.5-inch, full-color TFT LCD screen. Developed specifically for use on motorcycles, this large TFT display is the first of its kind on a Suzuki motorcycle. This high-quality instrument panel is set into the inner fairing above the handlebars, for great visibility and protection from debris. The brightness-adjustable TFT panel features a scratch-resistant surface and an anti-reflective coating that help improves visibility in bright light.

The TFT display uses GSX-S1000GT-exclusive graphics, including blue background lines that add an extra visual touch to help convey Suzuki’s spirit and brand identity. An additional feature of the TFT screen is a brief custom animation that plays when the ignition key is switched on. This playful presentation is pleasing to the eye and builds excitement for the ride to come.

The TFT readouts include: Speedometer (digital), RPM indicator (shift light), Tachometer (analog format), Transmission gear position, Fuel gauge, Coolant temperature, Ambient air temperature, Cruise control setting, SDMS mode, Traction control mode, Quick Shift (ON/OFF), Voltmeter, Clock (12-hour format), Odometer, Dual trip meter, Average fuel consumption (Trip 1 & 2), Instant fuel consumption, Riding range (per fuel onboard), Smartphone battery level, Smartphone connection status, and Rider-passenger intercommunication status (Bluetooth®).

The TFT display was developed to provide smartphone connectivity through the SUZUKI mySPIN application. While competitive models use systems originally developed for automobiles, the GSX-S1000GT adopts hardware and software designed specifically for the demands of motorcycle use. As such, SUZUKI mySPIN works seamlessly on the TFT screen to enrich the functionality of smartphone connectivity. The GSX-S1000GT’s smart cockpit blends riding and vehicle status updates, such as the speedometer and tachometer readouts, with pertinent information, communication, and entertainment from the rider’s smartphone.

Located to the left of the instrument panel is a USB outlet the rider may use to connect an iOS or AndroidTM smartphone to the TFT panel. The data connection can also be established via Wireless LAN and Bluetooth. The USB outlet can also charge the smartphone’s battery.

Available through the Apple App Store or Google Play, riders can install the free SUZUKI mySPIN app on their smartphone. Once installed, mySPIN provides an array of useful functions from five bundled applications specifically developed for motorcycle use.

The mySPIN system applications include Contacts, Phone, Maps, Music, and Calendar

Contacts – the system can access the contacts application on the smartphone and inform the rider who is calling. Calls can also be placed by selecting a contact from the list.

Phone – conveniently, the system can place phone calls, either dialed directly or from the contacts application, and can display the rider’s call history, all without stopping the bike.

Maps – the rider can view his or her current location on the map without having to download any third-party map application or data. The Suzuki Map can search for destinations and get routing information, all while allowing the rider to easily navigate from screen to screen by using the switches on the left handlebar.

Music & Content – the rider can use a Bluetooth headset to listen to music, podcasts, or other content from his or her smartphone’s library; the passenger can listen, as well, if they are wearing a Bluetooth headset wirelessly connected to the system.

Calendar – the rider can display calendar entries from his or her smartphone on the TFT screen, checking scheduled events and reminders.

The GT’s body colors include majestic Metallic Reflective Blue, and the sleek Glass Sparkle Black, each set off with distinctive GT logos, indelibly stamping the 2022 GSX-S1000GT and GT+ as motorcycling’s newest and most sophisticated, high-performance Grand Touring leaders. Manufacturer’s Suggested Pricing for both models will be announced.

The all-new 2022 Suzuki GSX-S1000GT and GSX-S1000GT+ will be available in Suzuki dealers in early 2022.

2022 Kawasaki Z900RS SE

2022 Kawasaki Z900RS SE

Kawasaki says:

With the resurgence of retro-sport motorcycles going strong, the new 2022 Z900RS SE is sure to turn heads with its timeless design and integral beauty that pays homage to the iconic old-school Z models. Serving as a high-grade variation of the Z900RS, the Z900RS SE inherits the same upgraded brake package and similar suspension package of the Z900 SE with a new, iconic "Yellow Ball" livery that is sure to pull at those nostalgic heartstrings.

SUSPENSION
- NEW Öhlins S46 rear shock with remote preload adjuster
- NEW Improved suspension settings

To further supplement the ride feel, the Z900RS SE features an Öhlins S46 rear shock. The shock is built with an aluminum body and single-tube construction, a large 46mm piston and internal air and gas chambers separated by a floating piston, the combination of components offers a superior feeling of grip and handling. The remote preload adjuster allows for quick and easy adjustment settings without tools, perfect for those tandem rides and luggage-bearing trips. With the improved movement in the initial part of the suspension stroke from both the front and rear suspension components, riders are left with an increased sense of contact with the road, further adding to rider confidence throughout the ride.

The Z900RS SE receives revised damping settings to the 41mm, fully adjustable inverted front forks, with 10-way compression and 12-way rebound damping, which help to compliment the new rear shock. The outer fork tubes are also gold for 2022 to match the signature look of the Öhlins rear shock.

Fitted with Kawasaki’s modern horizontal back-link rear suspension, the Z900RS SE allows for a high level of sporty riding potential while matching the front fork’s level of riding comfort and performance. The extruded aluminum swingarm is lightweight and helps contribute to the light handling of the motorcycle, and the linkage placed atop the swingarm allows for better mass centralization. This also allowed for the lay-down shock absorber to be moved further away from the exhaust so that its operation is not affected by any heat omitted by the exhaust. The shock has an adjustable preload and rebound damping.

WHEELS & BRAKES
- NEW Brembo® front brake package featuring M4.32 calipers

The Z900RS SE features dual 300mm Brembo front petal disc brakes and a 250mm rear petal brake with ABS. This contributes to the high level of quality and sportiness. Dual opposed four-piston Brembo M4.32 calipers with resin Brembo brake pads offer a linear brake feel, facilitating control for the rider. This new Brembo brake package offers stronger stopping power and contributes to greater rider control, all while presenting an overall greater ease of use. The brake pads are complimented by a Nissin radial-pump master cylinder and stainless-steel braided lines, delivering greater stopping power and a more linear progression when operating the lever, further facilitating rider feel. For an added degree of rider reassurance, the Z900RS SE comes fully equipped with an anti-lock braking system (ABS) to help prevent wheel lock-up and assist braking in certain conditions.

STYLING & INSTRUMENTATION
- NEW Iconic “Yellow Ball” styling

With a seamless blend of Z1-inspired styling elements and modern craftsmanship – from the iconic teardrop fuel tank to the innovative oval LED taillight – the Z900RS offers timeless good looks with an exquisite attention to detail and superb fit-and-finish. The Z900RS SE’s styling is reminiscent of the iconic “Yellow Ball,” a black and yellow version of the orange and brown paint of the original Z1. The unique colors come to life on the fuel tank, and thanks to the use of immersion graphics and rich quality paint, the design does not leave a raised surface, resulting in a high-quality finish that one would expect on a timeless motorcycle.

The Z900RS SE features a large-diameter LED headlamp with a convex lens and chromed headlamp ring, adding to the iconic retro feel of the motorcycle. LED lighting is used to illuminate not only the headlamp, but the position lamps, taillight, and license plate lamp as well. The turn signals feature bulb-type lighting.

The Z900RS SE utilizes a dual-dial instrumentation panel with a multi-function LCD screen, balancing retro-style looks with modern functionality. 2022 Kawasaki Z650RS

2022 Kawasaki Z650RS

Kawasaki says:

Kawasaki’s 650cc class Twins come in a wide-range of shapes and styles – from full cowling Ninja® sportbikes, to the Z family of supernaked models, to the Versys® adventure-style and Vulcan® cruiser-style machines. The newest member to join the venerable 650cc lineup is the all-new 2022 Z650RS, a middleweight retro sport that combines timeless looks inherited from the Z900RS with a compact, responsive package that riders will love to enjoy daily.

Just like its bigger Z900RS counterpart, the Z650RS tempts the eye with its timeless beauty of an orthodox motorcycle. Distinguishing itself from its bigger sibling is a slimmer fuel tank and a shorter, more compact tail, which express its light handling and approachable character.

The Z650RS has a fun and easy character that can be attributed to an engine and chassis based on that of the highly acclaimed Z650. The responsive 649cc parallel twin engine with robust low-end torque, combined with a lightweight chassis, deliver rider-friendly power delivery and light, natural handling that evokes a dose of fun to city outings and daily commutes. Factor in the relaxed upright riding position that you would expect from a retro sport model, plus a comfortable reach to the ground, and riders will be looking for any excuse to head out for a ride. The stylish new Z650RS retro sport model is another exciting option for riders looking to “Let the good times roll. ®”

ALL-NEW 2022 KAWASAKI Z650RS HIGHLIGHTS:
- Parallel-twin 649cc engine
- Lightweight trellis frame
- Telescopic front fork and horizontal back-link rear suspension system
- Compact, horizontal tail
- Dual-dial instrumentation with multi-function LCD screen
- Round LED headlight
- Spoke-style cast wheels
- Disc brakes with standard ABS
- Assist and slipper clutch
- Relaxed retro-style riding position

ENGINE
Optimized for everyday riding, the exciting paralell-twin engine offers quick response, strong low-mid range performance and excellent fuel economy. When opening the thottle, riders will notice a smooth and powerful engine character offering both a high level of control and gratifying rush of acceleration. The liquid-cooled, DOHC, 8-valve, 649cc paralell twin is equipped with fuel injection and has a strong low-end power focus that inspires rider confidence, while also lending itself to sporty riding. The 36mm throttle bodies contribute to the engine’s strong low-mid range performance and response, while sub-throttles ensure a smooth response. Fine-atomizing injectors delivering 75-micron droplets complement the throttle bodies, providing the ideal fuel-air mixture needed for the low-mid range focused engine.

An open-deck aluminum die-cast cylinder contributes to the overall light weight of the Z650RS. Its plated, cylinder bores enable a narrow cylinder pitch and slim engine width. The 180° crankshaft drives a balancer shaft for silky smooth engine operation and a semi-dry sump design reduces engine height. The engine’s compact size allows it to be positioned lower in the frame and contributes to a low center of gravity. A simplified cooling system routes coolant through the engine cases to the cylinder and head to reduce external routing. A radiator fan cover, which is located behind the radiator, directs hot air down and away from the rider to signficiantly increase rider comfort when at a standstill. The 6-speed, return transmission is paired with an assist and slipper clutch which lightens the pull at the lever and reduces wheel hop under heavy engine braking for direct and precise shifting.

CHASSIS
A key contributor to the light weight of the Z650RS is its innovative high-tensile steel trellis frame, which can be felt immediately when lifting the bike off of its side stand. The lines of the frame were made as straight as possible, and when bends were necessary their angles were made as small as possible, resulting in a design highly adept at dispering stress. Using Kawasaki’s in-house anaylsis technology, the necessary pipe diameter, length, and wall thickness were precisely determined to deliver the ideal lateral and torsional rigidty. This also allowed unnecessary material to be trimmed, further resulting in the light weight frame. Rigid-mounted engine and footpeg stays are used as stressed members, aiding in the frame’s rigidty and light weight. In order to give the Z650RS a light handling feel, Kawasaki engineers used a steep angle design.

Kawasaki’s in-house analysis technology was also used in the swingarm, and similar to the frame, the line from the pivot to rear axle was made as straight as possible. This lightweight swingarm design contributes to the bike’s light, natural handling. Great manueverability was achieved through a short wheelbase and tight turning radius. The angle of the rear frame is less upswept than that found on the Z650 and helps to achieve the Z650RS flat, even tail design. Just like the Z650, the rear frame’s twin-tube design contributes to the bike’s comfortable reach to the ground.

SUSPENSION
Handling the front suspension duties on the Z650RS retro machine is a 41mm telescopic front fork. On the rear, horizontal back-link suspension offers a progressive character and delivers a balance of sport performance and ride comfort. The rear suspension positions the shock unit and linkage above the swingarm, contributing to mass centralization and ensuring that it is not affected by exhaust heat.

BRAKES & WHEELS
Stopping the Z650RS is a pair of 300mm front brake discs that deliver plenty of braking power. The front discs are matched to dual-piston front calipers that offer superb brake feel and control. On the rear, a single 220mm brake disc can be found and matched with a single-piston caliper. Round discs on both front and rear contribute to the bike’s retro sport image. ABS is a standard feature on on the Z650RS, providing braking confidence and a compact Bosch 9.1M ABS keeps weight to a minimum.

Similar to those found on the Z900RS, original cast wheels feature flat spokes designed to look like classic wire-spoked wheels. The wheels were designed using Kawasaki’s advanced anaylsis technology and offer a balance of light weight and stylish looks that contribute to both handling and a design suited to the retro category. Together with the swingarm, the wheels contribute to the bike’s light, natural handling. Dunlop Sportmax Roadsport 2 tires have been fitted for performance and add to the light handling of the motorcycle.

ERGONOMICS
The wide, flat handlebar and relaxed riding position found on the Z650RS puts the rider in a natural, comfortable position that both inspires confidence and facilitates control for a wide range of riders. Thanks to longer fork tubes, the upper-triple clamp is positioned 20mm higher than that found on the Z650, contributing to a higher handlebar position and more upright riding position. The handlebar grips are 50mm higher and 30mm further back and closer to the rider than that of the Z650. Its wide 35° steering angle facilitates low-speed handling. Thanks to the bike’s low 31.5 inch seat height and slim overall design, riders can more easily keep both feet firmly on the ground when stopped. The narrow frame and engine design combined with the slim fuel tank, allow the rider to grip with their knees and keep their feet closer together.

Excellent ride comfort can be found thanks to a stepped seat design, which is slimmer at the front and facilitates the reach to the ground. Utilizing the ignition key, the seat can be removed and offers hassle-free access to the fuse box and tool kit. Rubber mounted handlebars reduce vibration transmitted through the handlebar grips and to the mirrors, adding to the bike’s comfortable feel. The 5-way adjustable clutch and brake levers help accommodate a variety of hand sizes for increased comfort. Rubber pads on both the rider and passenger footpegs use a harder rubber material with hollow centers to reduce vibration felt through the footpegs.

STYLING
Just like the Z900RS, the Z650RS features timeless good looks that give this middleweight model a light and casual appearance to reflect its rider-friendly character. The simple and modern design touches allow the Z650RS to blend seamlessly into your everyday life and riding. Featuring a blend of retro and modern design elements, the LED headlight casts a bright, white light and consists of two chambers (low-beam/high-beam) and a grooved design on the thick headlight ring that adds a modern touch. The retro-style fuel tank design uses edges dividing the top and sides of the tank to emphasize its compact size. A simple design of the engine’s side covers contribute to the modern retro styling.

The tail of the Z650RS traces a horizontal line, contributing to its flat stance. The tail is shorter than that of the Z900RS, which reinforces the light, casual styling theme. Unique to the Z650RS is the original design stepped seat, emphasizing the compactness of the tail. An oval design on the LED taillight pays homage to Kawasaki’s old-school Z models. The LED taillight on the Z650RS lights up as a solid surface to create a design that is both retro and modern. LED turn signals and an external helmet lock can also be found and add to the appearance.

Dual-dial instrumentation with multi-function LCD screen balances the retro-style looks with modern functionality. The bullet-shaped dial cases provide a retro sport model touch, while the modern typeface used on the dial faces add a contemporary touch. The LCD screen features a negative display with white letters on a black background, adding to the instrument clusters sporty, modern look. Display functions include gear position indicator, odometer, dual trip meters, fuel gauge, remaining range, current and average fuel consumption, coolant temperature, clock, and the economical riding indicator.

CHASSIS
A slim aluminum perimeter frame provides precise cornering through excellent front-end feel and agility when riding at high speeds. The frame’s lightweight construction is composed of forged, extruded, and cast parts, while the engine is used as a stressed member and adds to the frame's rigidity balance. Engineers carefully selected the dimension of the swingarm pivot, output sprocket and rear axle locations to focus on the center of gravity and balanced handling.

SUSPENSION
- NEW KYB front and rear suspension components
- NEW XTrig ROCS-TECH triple clamps with PHDS (Progressive Handlebar Damping System)

The KX450SR receives all-new KYB front and rear suspension components with a DLC (diamond-like coating) on the fork tubes that increases surface hardness to help prevent scratches and gouges that can occur from dirt, mud, rocks, and roost found in the motocross environment. It also reduces friction so that exclusive KX450SR settings can be used for higher performance, smoother suspension action, and a plush feeling. A Kashima Coat creates a hard, low-friction surface on the inside of the fork outer tubes to help prevent wear abrasion and keep sliding surfaces smooth for a long time. The lubricating material in the coating contributes to smoother suspension action, especially at the initial part of the stroke, and a better ride feel. The large-diameter fork inner tubes allow large 25mm damping pistons to be used so a firm damping force can be achieved with a lower internal pressure, which allows firmer damping performance and increased riding comfort. The rear shock offers dual compression adjustability so that high speed and low speed damping can be tuned separately. Utilizing feedbck from Kawasaki’s factory race teams, the 22mm front axle enhances front end traction. The New Uni-Trak® rear suspension linkage ratios have been selected to suit the chassis.

Holding up the KYB front forks is a new set of XTrig ROCS (revolutionary opposing clamp system) tech triple clamps that help to improve fork flex action for more optimal fork function. The upper triple clamp is outfitted with XTrig’s PHDS (progressive handlebar dampening system) handlebar mounts that are lightweight and improve responsiveness of the fork, and is supported by elastomers which are designed to absorb vibration from the engine and chassis. This system also helps to dampen the forces acting on the handlebars in both horizontal and vertical directions, translating into increased steering precision for the rider. With this system, the handlebar can be adjusted in 12 different positions for total rider customization.

2022 Ducati Multistrada V2

2022 Ducati Multistrada V2

Ducati says:

The first episode of the Ducati World Première 2022 web series (https://youtu.be/MBqM0XeDCpw) is dedicated by the Borgo Panigale manufacturer to the world of travel, with the presentation of the new Multistrada V2: the ideal bike to enjoy every route, versatile in everyday use and in the city, always with the sportiness and unmistakable style that characterize every Ducati.

With the Multistrada V2 project, the Borgo Panigale company has worked to further evolve the twin-cylinder of the family of Ducati dual bikes, creating a 360° bike, increasingly intuitive, comfortable, fun and accessible.

The new Multistrada V2 is a technologically advanced motorcycle, with an extremely complete electronic package that represents the perfect gateway into the Ducati tourer universe.

During the development phases of this bike the main points of focus were ergonomics, weight reduction, engine updates and a series of upgrades that follow the philosophy of "continuous improvement."

The design of the Multistrada V2 is elegant and sporty at the same time, perfectly in line with the stylistic and recognizable canons of the Borgo Panigale family of dual bikes. A style characterized by fluid lines, clean surfaces and the characteristic and distinctive balance between the important front volume and the slenderness and lightness of the rear. The Multistrada V2 also features new refined graphics, which show the name of the bike on both sides.

The new Multistrada V2 is equipped with the latest evolution of the 937 cc Testastretta 11° unit. The desmodromic distribution engine, four valves per cylinder, water-cooled, delivers 113 horsepower. This twin-cylinder is very linear, manageable and smooth at low revs, and is equipped with a torque that is always ready and vigorous, which if necessary can release all Ducati’s typical sporty and adrenaline-pumping character. Consistent and robust, the engine has extended maintenance intervals, with an oil change every 9,321 miles (15,000 km) and valve clearance check every 18,641 miles (30,000 km).

The evolution of the Testastretta 11° mounted on the new Multistrada V2 features important improvements: new connecting rods, new 8-disc hydraulic clutch and an updated gearbox, which guarantees greater fluidity and precision in shifting, also facilitating the engagement of neutral. An even more appreciable progress in use in conjunction with the quick shifter, now with a further optimized operating strategy.

The bike's chassis is agile and intuitive, with a 19" front wheel that ensures a smooth, comfortable ride, always with the right level of reactivity and precision. Extremely versatile, the bike is also ideal for urban use, thanks to the effectiveness of the Ducati Skyhook Suspension EVO semi-active suspension system (standard on the S version), which can absorb roughness and unevenness of the ground and always guarantee the ideal set-up of the vehicle, improving safety and comfort.

Important development work has been made on the ergonomics of the bike, to make it more comfortable and more intuitive, able to put any rider at ease in any situation. The height has been reduced to 32.7 inches (830 mm), with a redesigned shape of the saddle which is now narrower and more compact between the rider's legs to allow you to easily touch the ground with your feet thanks to an inseam arch of only 70.5 inches (1790 mm).

These changes provide safety when the bike is stationary and improve confidence when maneuvering at low speed even with a passenger and full cases. Furthermore, in the Ducati Performance catalogue a low seat and a lowered suspension kit are available which, combined, allow you to reach a height of 31.1 inches (790 mm).

The work on the seat also focused on riding comfort: the new shape of the saddle provides a flat area that guarantees the rider freedom of movement in the longitudinal direction, improving the level of comfort and allowing anyone to find the optimal position.

The riding position is now more comfortable with the new foot pegs inherited from the Multistrada V4 which, thanks to a 0.4 inch (10 mm) increase in distance from the seat, ensure the right amount of room also for taller riders, preventing them from bending their legs excessively, and thus allowing a more restful position during long journeys.

Another key area of improvement is the reduction in the bike's weight, which, through work on many elements, has resulted in a reduction of 11 lbs. (5 kg) in weight compared to the Multistrada 950.

The engine update has produced a saving of about 4 lbs. (2 kg), including the clutch (3.3 lbs./ 1.5 kg) and its cover, gearbox drum and connecting rods. Various parts of the vehicle have been lightened, including the mirrors, derived from Multistrada V4, the front brake disc flanges and the rims: the new Multistrada V2 mounts rims derived from the Multistrada V4, which are about 3.7 lbs. (1.7 kg) lighter, thus generating an important improvement in the dynamic behavior of the vehicle. Spoked wheels are also available in the Ducati Performance catalogue, which have been significantly lightened.

The Multistrada V2 is equipped as standard with a state-of-the-art electronic package that offers everything you need to travel in comfort and safety. The package includes ABS Cornering, which guarantees a high degree of safety when braking even when cornering, Vehicle Hold Control, which makes starting on sloping roads easy, Ducati Traction Control, the four Riding Modes (Sport, Touring, Urban, Enduro) completely configurable by the user and the new featured Ducati Brake Light system which, in the event of sudden braking, automatically activates the flashing of the rear light in order to signal the condition of sudden slowing down appropriately.

In the S version the journey becomes 5-star thanks to a benchmark full-optional package for the segment, which sees the addition of the Skyhook electronic suspension, Cruise Control, full-LED headlight equipped with Ducati Cornering Lights function which optimizes the illumination of the roadway based on the lean of the motorcycle, Ducati Quick Shift Up & Down, Hands Free system, a high resolution 5” color TFT dashboard with intuitive interface and backlit handlebar controls.
