Correos Prepago Yamaha VR46 Master Camp All Set for Spectacular Spanish GP2023-05-11 11:53Correos Prepago Yamaha VR46 Master Camp are impatient to start the Gran Premio MotoGP de España race weekend. They are more than fully motivated to get strong results. It will be a meaningful event because it‘s Manuel Gonzalez and the team‘s Title Sponsor Correos‘ home race. Moreover, the Circuito de Jerez – Ángel Nieto carries the name of Yamaha VR46 Master Camp Team‘s Sports Director Gelete Nieto‘s late father. Last time out at COTA, Gonzalez turned a difficult weekend into a top-10 finish. The local hero is determined to do better this weekend in Jerez and fight at the very front of the pack. His 16th place in Jerez last year has made him hungry for even bigger point-scoring results on home soil, and he is fancying his chances this Sunday. Soichiro Minamimoto will again be stepping in for the recovering Kohta Nozane, who sustained a back injury during the opening round. Minamimoto had a mountain to climb at the tricky Austin circuit last time out but showed his determination and ability to improve session by session. The Japanese talent is excited to try the Jerez track this weekend, which is a favourite amongst many riders. The Circuito de Jerez was built in 1986 and has been one of the most popular MotoGP events of the season ever since. Blessed with good weather, beautiful scenery, fast corners, hard braking areas, and a natural amphitheatre, the 4.4km Jerez circuit offers spectators a great view of the thrilling racing action that takes place here. This race weekend will be followed by an official day of testing on Tuesday, giving the team valuable extra track time. GELETE NIETO GELETE NIETO SPORTS DIRECTOR We've arrived at Jerez, one of the most popular tracks in the championship. It's a track that most of the riders like very much, that‘s why the times are always so close together. Manu arrives at Jerez very confident after seeing his improvement compared to last year. He knows that how we manage the work in the box is very important, and so is the strategy we use to get a good position for the classification. For Soichiro Jerez is a new circuit, but it will be easier than the Austin circuit. It is a shorter and simpler track, in addition to the fact that he has gained more experience on his Moto2 bike. MANUEL GONZALEZ MANUEL GONZALEZ We are back in Europe for the first time since the opening round in Portimão. Jerez is a track that I know very well. I have past experience here, and it‘s a track I really like; it‘s one of my favourites. I‘m looking forward to keeping on improving with the team, and I‘m aiming to stay in the top 5 in every session. I‘m happy to be back on the bike – let‘s go! SOICHIRO MINAMIMOTO SOICHIRO MINAMIMOTO I want to thank Yamaha and the team once again for giving me this opportunity. I'm looking forward to riding in Jerez. Of course, riding at this track this weekend will be a first time for me again. I know this challenge will be so difficult. But I'm looking forward to it. By the end of this weekend, I‘m going to have a lot of experience. I‘m going to enjoy the remaining time I get to spend in Moto2.
