Yamaha VR46 Master Camp Team Search for Perfect Aragon Step-Up on Friday2022-09-19 09:19The Yamaha VR46 Master Camp Team found themselves on familiar territory today. Manuel Gonzalez and Keminth Kubo took on the MotorLand Aragón track in the FP1 and FP2 session but are still looking to further pick up the pace. The pair ended the Friday in 20th and 26th place respectively in the combined timesheets. Gonzalez is keen to impress in his third home GP of the season. He already knew the track but needed some time to adapt to the anti-clockwise riding. His 1‘54.579s best time, set on lap 15/18 put him 18th place in the FP1 timesheets. The Spaniard was keen to improve on his fastest morning lap in FP2. He focused on improving his braking on his first run. After that put his head down. He posted a 1‘54.107s on lap 13/15 to end FP2 in 18th place and take 20th in the combined Friday results. Kubo also made his return to the Aragon track with the Yamaha VR46 Master Camp Team. With some CEV experience under his belt here, he quickly found a solid set-up which helped him gain confidence lap by lap. Dropping a 1‘55.182s on lap 16/16, he ended the session in 28th place. The number-81 rider used FP2 to get more laps in and climb up the rankings. His fastest time of 1‘54.778s on lap 4/15 was good for 26th place in the FP2 and the combined FP results. He made some mental notes of where he has a margin to improve to make further steps tomorrow. Manu‘s brake point is to be reviewed, and if we can fix that a bit, I‘m sure we can step it up. Kubo is very confident with his setting. His lap times are closer to the front riders compared to other Fridays, and it‘s a nice boost for him. Now he has to work hard to keep it going and improve on today‘s result.
