Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Shimoda Returns to Action with Fourth Place Finish2022-03-27 13:34Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Jo Shimoda made his return to racing at Lumen Field and proved to be back to full health with a fourth-place finish. An injury kept Shimoda off the bike for much of the break as he healed up, but even with a limited time on the bike, he showed signs of speed and maintained fifth in the championship. The track in Seattle forced the riders to be smart about line choices as the circuit conditions changed throughout the day. Shimoda used the qualifying time to get back into the swing of things, finishing ninth. His confidence grew in the heat race where he raced to third. In the main event, Shimoda found a good pace, staying close to the front runners after starting third. He fell back to fifth for some time, maintaining solid speed and was able to capitalize on another rider going down to move into fourth. Shimoda made a late-race push to go after third, but his effort right before the finish line pushed him off the track and he was forced to settle for fourth. “It was nice to be back and get into the swing of things again,” said Shimoda. “I didn’t get a ton of time on the bike before this weekend so overall I am happy with the result. I really was hoping to make something happen in that last turn for the podium, but just didn’t have the position to make the pass.
