Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Cameron McAdoo Heads Into Break With Fifth Podium Finish2022-03-20 10:29Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Cameron McAdoo rode to another podium finish as the runner up inside Lucas Oil Stadium, keeping himself in close contention for the Eastern Regional 250SX Championship. With four rounds remaining, McAdoo is 11 points out of the lead with another triple crown and two east/west showdown races still to play out. The region will get time to regroup as they will have two weekends off before returning to race action. The day started well for McAdoo, who was on top of first qualifying, but ultimately finished second just a few tenths off the leader. He brought that confidence to the first gate drop of the night, winning his first heat race of the season. In the past few races, McAdoo hadn’t been able to put his KX250 into early contention with tough starts, but his practice this week paid off as he nearly claimed the holeshot and tucked in just behind the leader after the first turn. He stayed very close for the opening laps and then made his move on the fifth lap to take over the lead. The short lap times resulted in running into lappers very early in the race, something that ultimately cost McAdoo. He wasn’t able to clear certain lappers, forcing McAdoo to move back into second. He kept the pressure high but crossed the finish line in second. “I felt great all day,” said McAdoo. “The track was rutted and technical, which I really enjoyed. I finally got a heat race win this season and got the starts dialed. I was able to really challenge for the lead but wasn’t able to navigate the lappers like my competition and it cost me.
