After 10 years team ParkinGO is back with Yamaha in the 2021 WSSP

The ParkinGO team and Yamaha are pleased to announce the presence in the 2021 Supersport World Championship of the ParkinGO Yamaha team with the rider Manuel Gonzalez.



The agreement was signed just a few hours ago by ParkinGO team founder Giuliano Rovelli and Andrea Dosoli, Road Racing Manager of Yamaha. After 10 years, the collaboration between the Italian two-time world champion team and the Japanese company, which led to the 2011 world title of Chaz Davies, is now back on track.



A strong collaboration as the Yamaha has dominated the 2020 season in the Supersport class and the ParkinGO team has brought the young star of Spanish motorcycling, Manuel Gonzalez, to his debut in the same class. The youngest World Champion in the history of motorcycling has finished his first year in seventh place. Gonzalez has been the best rider coming from the 300cc Supersport class and the only one to obtain points in all the races of the calendar.

I have been working for 2 years with the Team now and I have won the World Championship in 2019. Thanks to the many sacrifices and the work that we have done until now and that we will carry out in 2021 we will be able to aim for the best. Now I can’t wait to test the new Yamaha R6 on the track during the winter tests.

ParkinGO Team- Key Facts

The team was born in Gallarate (VA) from an intuition of Giuliano Rovelli, an entrepreneur with a sporting past. After finishing 3rd in the 1992 Italian SportProduction Championship with Cagiva Mito and having raced with the Rumi Fiamme Oro team in Supersport600, Rovelli founded the first ParkinGO hub in Milan Malpensa in 1995 after leaving competition. A company that has become the first network of car parks dedicated to all travellers and that today has 90 facilities throughout Europe. The ParkinGO team was born in 2007, when the entrepreneur brought the Triumph brand back to racing in CIV Supersport with Ivan Clementi.

The following year ParkinGO Triumph made its debut in the 600-derived world championship with the American Jason di Salvo and the Australian Garry McCoy. The latter was an outstanding rider, coming from the 500cc World Championship that gave the team and the brand of Hinckley, who had been missing from racing for 40 years, 3 podiums. Then came the 2011 World Championship title with Chaz Davies and Yamaha and the Superbike debut with the same Chaz Davies on Aprilia in 2012 (season closed as best rookie of the season and first private rider to take the victory on the RSV4 Factory). The return to Supersport came the following year with MV Agusta and riders Roberto Rolfo and Christian Iddon. The ParkinGO Kawasaki successes in Supersport 300 came last. First with Mika Perez, who came second in 2018, then with Manuel Gonzalez, world champion in 2019, youngest rider in the history of motorcycling at 16 years and 55 days and best rookie from the 300cc in the Supersport 600 world championship just finished.
