PETRONAS Sprinta Racing prepared for penultimate Moto3 round2020-11-12 14:36This weekend will see PETRONAS Sprinta Racing’s Moto3 riders John McPhee and Khairul Idham Pawi tackle the Gran Premio de la Comunitat Valenciana, the second of two back-to-back events at Circuit Ricardo Tormo. McPhee will be aiming to break his run of bad luck at the Valencia circuit, as the Scot was unable to make it to the finish both last weekend and in 2019. With three front row starts (2015, 2018 and 2020) – including pole position last time out – and a podium finish (2018) in the past, John knows that a good result is possible around Circuit Ricardo Tormo. McPhee will go into the penultimate round of 2020 sixth in the championship, with 119 points and a 38-point gap to the leader. After a difficult weekend, where the only dry running was to be had on race day, team-mate KIP will be hoping for a more straightforward Valencia GP. The Malaysian and his team have been working to find the best compromise between rider and bike to face the second event in a row at Circuit Ricardo Tormo. With the Spanish track being one that KIP enjoys, he is confident of finding improvements at the penultimate event of the year. The weekend will start for McPhee and KIP with Free Practice 1 at 10am local time (5pm MYT) on Friday, and conclude with Sunday’s 23-lap race at 11am local time (6pm MYT). John McPhee It would be nice to do some more dry laps at Valencia, but I think we can be strong in all conditions. We were a little bit off the pace in Warm Up last weekend. I knew it wasn’t perfect but I thought that it wasn’t too big of an issue, that we could be in the mix. The biggest issue we had was the first lap. The team and I have been analysing the data to find out what we can improve for this Sunday. It’s the same circuit so the data is particularly relevant.
