Kornfeil improves feeling on opening day of Round 4

WithU Motorsport and Jakub Kornfeil returned to work at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli on Friday, taking part in FP1 and FP2 of Round 4 of the FIM MotoE World Cup. The Czech rider continued the progression he had demonstrated last week, managing to lower the times he set in practice for Round 3. Kornfeil finished the day in 18th place on the combined timesheets.

A technical problem with his Energica bike prevented Kornfeil from performing at his best in the morning Free Practice session. The WithU Motorsport rider completed a total of 8 laps, setting his best time of the session - a 1:45.166 - on his fifth attempt. The Czech rider concluded the run in 18th place.

In FP2, he clocked his best time of the day, with a 1:44.670 that saw him equal his fastest lap from last weekend, achieved in the race. The WithU Motorsport rider contributed another 10 laps and finished 18th.

The E-Pole session takes place tomorrow at 11:45pm local time, with the 7-lap first Emilia Romagna GP race of the weekend held at 4:15pm.

"In FP1 we had a problem with the bike, which luckily we were able to solve for FP2. I want to thank all of the mechanics for the good, fast work they did. After what happened, FP2 went much better. I am happy with myself for having set three fast laps in a row, and I was also able to do them alone as well. Unfortunately, everyone is also improving, so our final position remains unsatisfying. However, I feel better on the bike now and I think that in tomorrow's race we can do great things. I need to be consistent and be ready for any opportunity or possibility that we may have. Regarding the E-Pole, I will take risks and push the maximum I can. We have to learn from what happened in qualifying last weekend."
