Brno beckons for McPhee and KIP

The Grand Prix České republiky is next on the list for PETRONAS Sprinta Racing’s Moto3 riders John McPhee and Khairul Idham Pawi, as they prepare to take on three back-to-back race weekends.

Having battled at the sharp end of the field in the two races at Jerez, and claiming second in the most recent, McPhee heads into this weekend confident of being able to replicate this success. The Scot has proven that he can put together quick laps at Automotodrom Brno, after taking his first Moto3 win there in 2016 and qualifying on the front row last year. John will be looking to close down the gap to the current championship leader with a good haul of points. After three rounds McPhee currently sits third in the riders’ standings with 40 points, despite his second round DNF.

Fellow Honda NSF250RW rider KIP will be aiming to continue his progress in his return to racing. The Malaysian rider has continued to increase his feeling with the bike each track session and is hoping that the cooler temperatures will help him adapt further. KIP has previously been within podium contention at the Czech Republic round and will be looking to take advantage of that track knowledge, possibly to score his first points of the season.

Free Practice will get underway for the Moto3 pairing on Friday at 9am local time (3pm MYT), with the lights for Sunday’s 18-lap race due to go out at 11am local time (5pm MYT).
