🏁 RideHVMC Recaps Road America Round 22020-07-17 19:36Round two of the MotoAmerica calendar marked a return to Wisconsin’s Road America race track. After strong results in the opening round just one month prior, the team struggled through the weekend fighting reocurring technical gremlins. Despite having only one qualifying session to inclement weather in Friday's qualifying two session the team narrowly missed out on a front row grid position. Corey was able to qualify in fourth position for the sole Stock 1000cc race of the weekend which also gridded the New Rage Cycles RideHVMC Racing #23 in twelfth position for both Honos Superbike Races featuring the Superbike Cup. Saturday’s Superbike race 1 would ultimately lead to a DNF with transmission issues forcing Corey to pit in after just the first lap. After identifying the issue and making a number of changes to the bike going into Sunday the team was hopeful for a competitive finish in the Stock 1000 race. Unfortunately again arose technical issues on the first lap putting Corey in last position. After choosing to stick it out for the remainder of the race he was able to work his way through the field to finish in 6th place, scoring crucial championship points. Superbike Race two was the highlight of the teams weekend with another top ten finish with a p9 result and a new personal best lap time of 2:16:088. Unfortunately we battled a lot of issues with shifting and the transmission which hurt our progress. Ultimately I’m happy to have had another top ten finish in Superbike and salvage some points in Stock 1000 but bummed to not be fighting with Cam for the win.
