WSSP Australia: Gonzalez fantastic debut whit ParkinGO Kawasaki

A great debut for Manuel Gonzalez and the ParkinGO Kawasaki team today in Phillip Island where the first round of the World Supersport 600 championship took place.

An exciting race, enlivened with the 'flag to flag' formula, with tyre changes required by lap 13, as requested by the supplier Pirelli after the introduction of slick tyres in this category as well.



To win the race, the pole position man, Andrea Locatelli (Yamaha). Manuel Gonzalez, who started on row 5 with the 13th time, immediately recovered two positions overtaking Fuligni (MV Agusta) and Webb (Yamaha). On lap 11, entered the pits for the scheduled tyre change. In just over a minute the team performed a quick tyre change and gave the green light for the rider to return to the race with perfect timing, without incurring penalties.
The Spaniard returned to the track, battled for seventh position with Fuligni and Vinales (Yamaha) and finished tenth, an already excellent result, improved to eighth place thanks to the penalties of Fuligni and Vinales.



SUPERSPORT 300
Completing the day of success for the ParkinGO Kawasaki team was Tom Edwards' 3rd place and Filippo Rovelli's 5th place in the Australian Supersport 300 Championship, race combined with today's World Championship.



Manuel GONZALEZ (ParkinGO Kawasaki ZX- 6R) - 8th classified
" Today's eighth place here on Phillip Island is quite an achievement. I'm very happy with my WSSP world championship debut. It was the completion of a weekend of perfect and very thoughtful work by the team. Since we arrived on this difficult and unknown track, we have improved step by step, making no mistakes that would make us go backwards. The ParkinGO team's work today has been impeccable. They make me feel very confident and motivated. We now look forward to the next race in 15 days in Qatar. Thanks to all my supporters".

Edoardo Rovelli (ParkinGO Kawasaki team manager) - "We are very satisfied with this result achieved thanks to the great teamwork. We were among the most precise and fastest in making the flag to flag according to the rules without incurring penalties and Gonzalez was able to finalize the result giving us a perfect eighth place. The positive day was completed with the results of Tom Edwards, who won the sprint and Filippo Rovelli fifth today in the Australian Championship. Now we're going to Qatar where we'll race to confirm our top ten position which will be our target for the first part of the Championship and then aim higher".

WSSP Round de Australia: González logra un magnífico octavo lugar con un perfecto "flag to flag" del equipo ParkinGO Kawasaki.

PHILLIP ISLAND, 1 MAR 2020 - Un gran debut para Manuel González y el equipo ParkinGO Kawasaki hoy en Phillip Island donde tuvo lugar la primera carrera del campeonato mundial de Supersport 600, reservada a las motos derivadas de serie de capacidad media.

La carrera fue muy interesante, animada por la fórmula de "flag to flag", con cambios de neumáticos necesarios en la vuelta 13, como pidió el proveedor Pirelli después de la introducción de neumáticos slick en esta categoría también.



El autor de la pole position, Andrea Locatelli (Yamaha), ha ganado la carrera con un Manuel González,que empezó en la fila 5 en la 13ª posición y recuperó inmediatamente dos posiciones superando a Fuligni (MV Agusta) y Webb (Yamaha). En la vuelta 11 entró en boxes para el cambio de neumáticos programado. El equipo realizó un rápido cambio de neumáticos en poco más de un minuto y dio luz verde para que el piloto volviera a la carrera con un tiempo perfecto, sin incurrir en penalizaciones.
El español volvió a la pista, luchó por la séptima posición con Fuligni y Viñales (Yamaha) y terminó en décimo lugar, un resultado ya excelente, pero mejorando al octavo lugar gracias a las penalizaciones de Fuligni y Viñales.



SUPERSPORT 300
El día satisfactorio para el equipo ParkinGO Kawasaki se completó con el 3er puesto de Tom Edwards y el 5º de Filippo Rovelli en la carrera del Campeonato Australiano de Supersport 300, carrera combinada con el Campeonato Mundial celebrada hoy.

Manuel GONZÁLEZ (ParkinGO Kawasaki ZX- 6R) - 8º clasificado
"El octavo lugar de hoy aquí en Phillip Island es todo un logro. Estoy súper feliz con mi debut en el campeonato mundial WSSP. Fue la culminación de un fin de semana de trabajo perfecto y muy meticuloso por el equipo. Desde que llegamos a este difícil y desconocido circuito, hemos ido mejorando paso a paso, sin hacer errores que nos hubieran hecho retroceder. El trabajo del equipo de ParkinGO hoy ha sido impecable haciéndome sentir muy seguro y motivado. Ahora esperamos la próxima carrera en 15 días en Qatar. Gracias a todos los que me apoyan".



Edoardo Rovelli (Team Manager ParkinGO Kawasaki) - "Este resultado nos deja muy satisfechos por el gran trabajo en equipo. Hemos sido de los más precisos y rápidos en hacer el "flag to flag" según las reglas sin obtener penalizaciones. González pudo finalizar el resultado dándonos una perfecta octava posición. Un día perfecto que se ha completado con los resultados de Tom Edwards, que ganó el sprint y Filippo Rovelli quinto hoy en el Campeonato Australiano. Ahora vamos a Qatar donde correremos para confirmar nuestra posición entre los diez primeros, que será nuestro objetivo para la primera parte del Campeonato, para luego apuntar más alto".
