Moriwaki Althea Honda Team concludes official testing at Portimao

Ryuichi Kiyonari and Takumi Takahashi today concluded the second and final day of official WorldSBK testing at the Algarve International Circuit Portimao.

Working on their bikes’ setup, Takumi was able to improve on his best time of yesterday by nearly a second, setting a fastest time of 1’43.544 and finishing in seventeenth place, while Ryuichi recorded the19th fastest lap time in 1’44.474.

Racing will resume at the same track on September 6-8 with the Portuguese championship round.

“This track is quite difficult, and it is not easy to set good lap times. Having said that, I tried my best over these two days and ultimately, we were able to improve our settings and our lap times but honestly not by as much as we would have liked. Anyway, all in all, it has been a good experience”.

We tried many different settings and even if I did not make any really big improvements in terms of lap times, I feel that the potential is there to do a good job with the bike’s setup when the race weekend arrives. So, I look forward to coming back in September for the Portuguese round.”
