PETRONAS Sprinta Racing fired up for Sachsenring2019-07-03 09:45PETRONAS Sprinta Racing’s John McPhee and Ayumu Sasaki are fired up for this weekend’s German Grand Prix as the Moto3 riders head into the weekend straight from the Dutch Grand Prix with a point to prove. Unlucky in Assen despite a strong result of fifth for McPhee, the duo will have every opportunity to bounce back at the Sachsenring. The German track is a place where McPhee has fond memories after stepping on the podium there last year. Able to ride an impressive race in Assen last Sunday to come from 22nd on the grid to 5th in the final pecking order, he’s hoping that a stronger performance in qualifying will allow him to show the race-winning pace that he last displayed in Le Mans in May. Sasaki also has a point to prove in Germany after mixed fortunes in the Netherlands. Lucky to stay in control of his bike after a huge moment in Sunday’s race, he saved it but lost out on the chance for one of his best results of the season in the process. Nonetheless, he’s a big fan of the shortest circuit on the Grand Prix calendar and recorded one of his best performances of 2018 there last year – something he’s hoping to build on this time round. The 27-lap Moto3 race at the Sachsenring will kick off at 11am local time (7pm Malaysian time). Source: SIC Racing Team Click here to visit our forums to discuss this story |
