ARENAS STARTS STRONG AT MUGELLO

The winner of the Moto3 French Grand Prix starts less than a second off the fastest time on day one in Italy
Mugello welcomes the Moto3 World Championship for another exciting installment of the Italian Grand Prix this weekend. Jorge Martín continued to be one of the fastest riders in the class, setting the quickest time on Friday with a 1:57.104, besting Aron Canet by three tenths of a second and Tatsuki Suzuki by four tenths. The top KTM rider, Philipp Öttl, was fourth, at a circuit where the Austrian manufacturer took the victory through Andrea Migno last year.

The Ángel Nieto Team started the Italian round strong, with a tenth position for Albert Arenas. The winner of the French Grand Prix followed the new strategy that he has applied along with his crew since the last round of the World Championship, and focused on working on the setup of his bike with less of a focus on lap times. Arenas nevertheless ended Friday in tenth position overall, and was one of the few riders less than a second off Martin's time. Andrea Migno, fourth in the first practice session for the Italian Grand Prix, could not improve his time in FP2, and will focus on improving his feeling with the bike and his setup with an eye on raceday.

10th Albert Arenas 1:58.009 (29 laps): "We started the weekend just like we did in France, even though it's a completely different circuit. We are following the same strategy: We started from scratch, working little by little. Today we set a good time, but I am trying to work by myself and thinking about my race pace, without obsessing about positions. We are focusing more on feeling strong with the bike and fine-tuning the setup."

21st Andrea Migno 1:58.658 (28 laps): "We end the first day of work at the Mugello circuit with mixed feelings and with the aim of getting the best possible setup for the race. We still need a bit more, but we will not stop working because I got a great result here last year: The first victory of my World Championship career."
