Ángel Nieto Team pays his own tribute to 12+1 World Champion whilst Albert Arenas is unable to finish
The Moto3 race at the Spanish Grand Prix ended with an all-KTM podium after an incident involving Aron Canet, Jorge Martín, Tony Arbolino and Enea Bastianini saw a dramatic change to the look of the championship. With victory going to Philipp Öttl ahead of Marco Bezzecchi and Marcos Ramírez, it is the Italian youngster Bezzecchi who moves into the series lead after a run of three consecutive podiums.

Andrea Migno paid his own tribute to the late, great Ángel Nieto on a weekend celebrating the honour of the 12+1 World Champion, picking up thirteenth place in the race. A day that began with Gelete and Pablo Nieto taking a parade lap of the newly renamed circuit on board their father's title winning Garelli 125cc and Derbi 80cc, saw up to eighteen riders battling in the lead group of a thrilling Moto3 race. Andrea Migno was in the mix but was unable to maintain the pace until the end and eventually crossed the line in thirteenth, making him one of just five riders to score points in every round so far. Albert Arenas, meanwhile, was unable to finish the race after suffering tyre issues on the opening laps. The Spaniard came in to switch rubber but returned to the track a lap down.


12+1 Andrea Migno: “It was a very difficult race, we didn't have the same pace as in practice. We were slower today. It was a shame we could not be as competitive but we gave our maximum to finish the race in the points. It is not what we wanted but once I got in the group I couldn't stay with them and once I lost the tow they escaped.”

Albert Arenas (DNF): “I had a problem with the rear tyre in this race and in the end I had to retire. Already on the first lap it was sliding around on the throttle, which was very strange. I tried to keep going on the second lap but there was something happening in every corner. I left it to see if it came good but in the end I had to come into the box and change. I went back out in case there was something like a red flag but it didn't happen. I felt strong today, we were ninth fastest in warm-up, but we have to keep working for Le Mans and I am sure we will get to where we deserve. We have to keep faith.”
