Yamaha Racing Riders Gear Up For EnduroGP Of Italy

As the FIM EnduroGP World Championship moves to Italy for its third round for 2017, Yamaha Racing riders have their sights set on battling for victory in three different classes of the series this weekend in Spoleto.

Gearing up for the Italian round of the championship, Outsiders Yamaha Official Enduro Team riders Loïc Larrieu and Jamie McCanney are ready to take on what's promising to be a long and demanding weekend of racing.

Collecting two strong top five results during the previous round of the series in Spain, Larrieu is all-set to continue his battle for the podium in the premier EnduroGP class. Fresh from his double victory in the latest round of the French Enduro Champioship in Gacé, the WR450F mounted rider returns to the south European country less than a year after securing his second career victory aboard Yamaha machinery on Italian soil.

As for Jamie McCanney, Yamaha's official representative in the highly-competitive Enduro 2 class has sights set on improving on his third place in the class' provisional championship standings. Securing a double podium result during the latest round of the series in Spain, the Outsiders Yamaha Official Enduro Team rider will be fighting for the top step of the podium in Italy.

Currently second in the Enduro Junior championship standings, Johansson Yamaha Junior Enduro Team rider Mikael Persson will be a strong contender for victory in Italy. Officially representing Yamaha in the under 23 class of the championship, Mikael has his sights set on continuing his strong run of form that has seen the young Swede earn a podium results in every round of the 2017 series so far.

Round three of the 2017 Enduro World Championship will take place in Spoleto, Italy on May 26/28.

"We're really satisfied with the performance of our two riders so far. They've made a great start to the season and they've both proved they can be competitive in their classes. From the icy conditions of Finland to the dry terrain of Spain we're happy Loïc and Jamie were consistent and avoided any mistakes or injuries. With this being our second year of collaboration with Loïc, we know exactly what he wants to do well. He has a great feeling aboard his WR450F and he's getting better and better every time out.
