Team Babbitt’s/Monster Energy®/AMSOIL Kawasaki Takes Over Arenacross Championship Lead

Night One - The second round of AMSOIL Arenacross' Race to the Ricky Carmichael Cup was underway on Friday, March 24th inside the Livestock Events Center. From the moment Team Babbitt’s/Monster Energy/AMSOIL Kawasaki Presented by AP Designs rider Gavin Faith hit the track, there was no stopping him. Faith had a perfect night, leading every lap on his Kawasaki KX™250F, from his qualifier, to the Head-2-Head Challenge and finally sweeping both Main Events, finishing 1-1 for a flawless victory. Gared Steinke had his best finish of the season as well after two great starts finishing 3-4 for third overall. Teammate Travis Sewell finished 12-10 for 11th overall.

Night Two

When the gate dropped on the first 250AX Class Main Event, the No. 1 of Faith lead the field around Turn 1 with Sewell in third. Faith held on to the lead for seven long laps before a bobble in the whoop section would cause him to lose the position. Faith raced hard to finish second, Sewell fourth and Steinke right behind in fifth position. The start of Main Event 2 was no different as Faith captured his fourth consecutive holeshot of the weekend on his Kawasaki. A small mishap in the rhythm section allowed second place to catch and pass Faith for the lead on Lap 8. Faith battled hard but could never find his way back around, finishing 2-2 for second overall. Steinke finished a strong fifth overall (5-5), with Sewell seventh (4-11). Team Babbitt’s/Monster Energy/AMSOIL Kawasaki rider Faith now leads the AMSOIL Arenacross’ Race to the Ricky Carmichael Cup championship standings by a seven point margin.


“I feel like myself again,” said Faith. “Friday went amazing and although we didn’t win Saturday, I got off to two great starts and lead laps. I’m pumped to have the red plate again going into Round 3.”


“Reno went great,” said Steinke. “I truly feel like I’ve got the bike dialed now and can ride to my true potential. Great starts all weekend and a podium finish on Friday feels good. Can’t wait to keep the ball rolling.”


“This weekend had its ups and downs,” said Sewell. “I wasn’t very consistent this weekend with only getting one strong result. I’ll do my homework during the week and bounce back next weekend.”
