JEREZ TEST - DAY TWO

SIC Racing Team rider Adam Norrodin concluded a successful second day 18th in the combined standings, whilst a heavy crash hampered teammate Ayumu Sasaki’s progress, resulting in the sixteen year old finishing 23rd overall.

In near perfect conditions the morning saw Adam Norrodin immediately make headway on yesterday’s times, improving his pace by four tenths. With renewed confidence and a better feeling on board his #7 machine, the young Malaysian continued to improve, showing his strongest form in the final session, where he remained in the top ten for the majority, before finishing in a solid 5th position.

Following a high-side at turn one on his first flying lap in second practice, Ayumu Sasaki was forced to sit out the remainder of the session, whilst his crew worked hard to repair the damage to the #71 Honda. Undeterred and raring to make up for lost time, the Moto3 rookie returned on track for the final practice, regaining his rhythm and completing a positive end to the day.

“We started day two quite well; the conditions were good and I was able to find a good feeling on the bike. We made some more changes throughout and this helped me to improve further. Also with the used tyre it worked much better. Everyone was pushing very hard in the last session and I knew I had to do the same; this is when I made my best lap time and finished in fifth position. With another day on track tomorrow I’m looking forward to making more laps and pushing harder to make the next step.”
#71 AYUMU SASAKI

“In the first session we had a small problem with our settings, so we focussed on fixing this. For second practice we tried a different set-up and on my first lap I had a big high-side in the first corner, so I couldn’t test how the bike was working. My crew worked very hard to repair my bike so I could get back out for the final practice. We made some good improvements with the set-up but it took me a little longer to regain my rhythm and improve my speed. For sure we can do better tomorrow.”
