DRIVE M7 SIC RACING TEAM AIM HIGH FOR JAPANESE GRAND PRIX2016-10-11 08:46The triple-header is here and the MotoGP paddock will spring back into action this weekend with the first of three back-to-back races. Hosting round fifteen is the impressive Twin Ring Motegi circuit in Japan, where the riders will take to the track to battle for the podium amongst the stunning surroundings of the northern Kanto district. At a circuit that is renowned for its stop-and-go characteristics, Jakub Kornfeil heads to Japan confident he can take full advantage of the strong braking and acceleration zones on board his Honda NSF250RW. The Czech rider is determined to finish the season on high and will be looking to use the combination of a good team strategy and fortitude to fight his way onto the podium. Elated to be returning to one of his favourite circuits, teammate Adam Norrodin is eager to set the momentum rolling in Japan and build his strength amongst the Moto3 field. Aiming to collect more points, the Malaysian rookie is eager to better his results ahead of his home Grand Prix in just over two weeks’ time. #84 Jakub Kornfeil “Japan is my favourite country to visit. I love the Grand Prix there, so I’m very excited for this next race. The two week break feels like a long time; I can’t wait to get back on my bike! The track at Motegi is a mixture of stop-and-go with flowing sections, which I really like. It’s quite a heavy braking track, which is good for me as I feel strong on the brakes and I’m confident this will suit my riding style on the Honda. I left Aragon with a small injury so I had to rest it for four days but since then I have been working really hard to prepare for these next three back-to-back races. My aims for Japan are high! We really need a podium. We are coming to the last part of the season and to achieve a top three result is very important. We will be working very hard to accomplish this. I feel mentally and physically prepared and I’m going to give it my all in Japan!” #7 Adam Norrodin “I’m excited to go to Japan as it’s a circuit I’ve already ridden at previously whilst in the Asia Talent Cup. I know my bike so much better now, so to go to a circuit I have experience at as well will certainly help me to get up to speed a lot quicker. It’s almost the end of the season so I really want to finish on a high with some strong race results in these last four rounds. I like the stop-and-go layout of Motegi and it’s definitely one of my favourite tracks. It will be great to make a good start in Japan and continue to improve our form throughout the next three races. I have spent the last two weeks at home in Malaysia. I have focussed a lot on riding during this time; supermoto, moto-cross and cycling. I wanted to be on two-wheels as much as possible so that I am prepared for Japan. Every race our aim is points and I want to achieve this more than ever leading up to my Home Grand Prix at Sepang at the end of October.” Source: SIC Racing Team Click here to visit our forums to discuss this story |
