ATT riders arrived in Jerez full on anticipation for the penultimate round of the season, just four races remaining for them to achieve their goals2016-10-02 09:00It seems almost an age since the last round of the FIM CEV Repsol Moto3 Junior World Championship in Portugal, but the Asia Talent Team have lost none of their speed nor their skill. The five riders arrived in Jerez full on anticipation for the penultimate round of the season, just four races remaining for them to achieve their goals. Kaito Toba was not to be out done and will start Sunday’s two races from third place, setting a 1’47.368. Like the entire top 15, Toba’s best time came from the first Qualifying session. Toba remains in mathematical title contention and will need at least brace of podiums to keep his title hopes alive. You can be sure he’ll give it his all on Sunday. Ayumu Sasaki was the man in form having wrapped up the prestigious Red Bull Rookies Cup championship in Aragon just a week before. His speed carried over to Qualifying where he set a 1’47.310 during the first session. This time was good enough for fifth place, just 0.06s from a front row start. But he was demoted to eighth place after penalties were applied to various riders. The Japanese ace is looking to end the season on a high, continuing to hunt for a first victory. Once more Kazuki Masaki put in a respectable performance as he focused his attention on finding a solid setting for the race. Times are incredibly close in the Moto3 Junior World Championship and Masaki’s1’48.052 was under a second from the front row. Masaki begins the races from 13th. A commendable 16th place for Andi Farid who is looking to continue building his experience and hopefully grab some points at the legendary Jerez circuit. The Indonesian rider has proven to be a real fighter so far in 2016 and is aiming to make up as many places as he can. Nakarin Atiratphuvapat will begin Sunday’s pair of races from 22nd on the grid, not quite what he and the team were looking for after some flashes of brilliance during the season. Despite this he was still able to out-qualify several riders with World Championship experience. Races (both 16 laps) are scheduled to begin at 11:00 (Local Time) and 14:00 (Local Time) on Sunday 2nd October.
