Monster Energy Kawasaki Team Green Paints the Podium Green at Loretta Lynn’s2016-08-08 07:08As we rolled through the halfway point of the week, mother nature refused to let up, forcing delays and creating extreme conditions. When racing resumed, it wasn’t long before a Kawasaki was up front leading motos again as Jordan Bailey and Garrett Marchbanks duked it out for the 250 B Moto 2 win. After starting outside the top-10, Marchbanks put on a charge to catch teammate Bailey who was leading. By the halfway point, Marchbanks had passed his way up into the No. 1 spot and had checked out. Marchbanks would take the 250 B Moto 2 win with Bailey in second. Bailey found some redemption in the second moto of Schoolboy 2 (13-16) B/C as he pulled a huge holeshot and never looked back, taking the Moto 2 victory, while Marchbanks settled for second. 250 A rider Joey Crown went into his second motos looking to improve and he would do just that as he raced to a fifth place finish in 250 All-Star. Unfortunately, a poor start and crash in the 250 A class would leave Crown with a 12th in Moto 2. Lance Kobusch and Stiles Robertson both accelerated off the line to great starts in their second Supermini 1 (12-13) moto. Kobusch made his moves early in the race to slide his KX™100 into second place, where he stayed until the checkered flag. Robertson finished just off the podium in fourth place, a great rebound after not finishing Moto 1. Robertson and Kobusch rocketed out of the gate once again at the start of Supermini 2 (13-16) Moto 2. Robertson battled for the lead before tangling with another racer, allowing teammate Kobusch to race by and take over second place. Unfortunately, with two laps to go, Robertson had to retire, while Kobusch held on to finish second. Teammate Jett Reynolds continued his hunt for his seventh straight amateur national championship on the KX™85cc as he podiumed in both motos, finishing second in 85cc (9-11) Limited and third in 85cc (9-12). Nick Romano rode well to finish sixth in 85cc (9-11) before running into issues in the 85cc (9-12), forcing him out of the race. Ryder DiFrancesco rebounded today in both of his classes, as he rode like the wind in the 65cc (10-11) class to take the Moto 2 victory and battled hard to finish second in 65cc (7-11). Before the day reached its end, the Women (16+) All-Star class hit the rugged and muddy track for their second moto. Kawasaki rider Kylie Fasnacht quickly jumped to the lead, but would make an early mistake and hand the lead over to Monster Energy® Kawasaki Team Green™ rider Hannah Hodges. Hodges led until she fell on the final lap and ended up finishing fourth behind Fasnacht in third. The third and final motos begin tomorrow as Team Green looks to add championships to their unmatched collection.
