Simple Goals for RCH at MetLife Stadium2016-04-30 11:08With only two races left for the 2016 Monster Energy AMA Supercross series, an FIM World Championship, it’s likely that Ken Roczen, rider of RCH Racing’s No. 94 Soaring Eagle/Jimmy John’s Suzuki RM-Z450 will be forced to concede the championship to Ryan Dungey this weekend at MetLife Stadium. However, with four wins to his credit this season, including a victory last weekend at Gillette Stadium, Roczen’s concession won’t come voluntarily. While Dungey only needs to finish 14th or better, no matter where Roczen ends up tomorrow night, the 22-year-old German rider has no intention of rolling over to the defending series titlist. In the season’s first 15 races, the 2014 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Champion has put together an impressive string of successes, not finishing outside the top six since the season began. Over that same span, Roczen has earned 10 podium finishes and looks to close out the 2016 indoor campaign with a career-best points showing. “A lot of things can happen,” explained Roczen. “It’s not over until the fat lady sings. My plan (last week) was obviously win and drag out the championship for another week or two. You never know what’s going to happen, so I’m just going to keep putting my head down and do all that I can, just give it my all. It is what it is. He (Dungey) has a huge points gap. I’m just going to keep putting my head down and hopefully get three wins in a row to close out the season.” Despite a rough afternoon last Saturday, Roczen’s RCH teammate Jake Weimer comes into Round 16 tied for 10th in points. With two races to go, the goal for the Rupert, Idaho native is simple – finish the year in the top 10. “The goal for me this weekend is really the same as it is every week and that’s to finish better than eighth, which is my best finish of the year,” offered Weimer. “But, the bigger goal is to finish the Supercross season healthy and in the top 10 in points. Last weekend was tough and I was definitely sore but I’m ready to go for tomorrow night.” Broc Tickle, rider of RCH’s No. 20 Suzuki is looking for a boost in performance to close out the season. Tickle was injured in a practice crash early in the year and has only competed in five events, with a best finish of 11th coming in the season opener in Anaheim, Calif. “I’d really just like to have a good, solid night,” said Tickle. “It definitely hasn’t been the season I was hoping for but sometimes things happen that are out of your control. There’s two races left and if I could finish somewhere inside the top 10 in both of them, I’d be pretty happy with that.” Before the gate drops at the track, Tickle and Weimer will meet fans and sign autographs at the Motorcycle Mall, tonight from 6 - 7 p.m. Located just 15 minutes west of MetLife Stadium, Motorcycle Mall in Belleville, N.J., carries new and used Suzuki, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Honda, Ducati, Piaggio, Aprilia, Moto Guzzi, Can Am, KTM, Kymco, Sea-Doo, Ski-Doo, Slingshots, Vespa, Victory Motorcycles, BMW and Triumph. Round 16 of Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, will be televised live on FS1 Saturday, April 30 beginning at 7 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time, 4 p.m. Pacific. -30- About RCH Racing … RCH Soaring Eagle/Jimmy John’s/Suzuki Factory Racing is a professional Monster Energy Supercross and Lucas Oil Pro Motocross team co-owned by 15-time AMA Champion Ricky Carmichael and Freestyle Motocross visionary and entrepreneur Carey Hart.
