Brembo continues its initiative of developing and providing brake facts for each of the 18 races on the MotoGP World Championship calendar. This weekend MotoGP heads to Spain and the Gran Premi Monster Energy de Catalunya.

Catalunya is considered a very technical track with abrupt slow sections that stress the brakes considerably. The first brake zone after the finish line at the end of the very long front straight is one of the heaviest braking zones of the World Championship. Catalunya is a heavy braking track, it is important that the brake system get maximum cooling. The switchback turns, all decisive and very close together, will have the top riders seeing very high operating temperatures for the discs and brake pads. Depending on track and ambient temperatures clean and cool air getting to the brakes is critical in this tight section of the track.

The 2015 season marks the 40th Anniversary of Brembo’s first entry into motorsports. Brembo supplied its first racing brake system to Ferrari in 1975 in the Formula One World Championship. Since then, the Italian company has invested heavily in research and development of highly innovative and technological products.
