450-CLASS CHAMPION RYAN DUNGEY CONTINUES TO SHINE AT SANTA CLARA SUPERCROSS2015-04-19 10:42Red Bull KTM’s 2015 US Supercross 450 champion and factory rider Ryan Dungey added yet another win to his impressive season tally on Saturday night at Round 15 of the series in the Levi Stadium at Santa Clara, California. Teammate Justin Hill picked up a season’s best result in the 250-class West series with a podium second. Dungey was placed in the first 450 SX heat where he pulled a holeshot from an inside line. He led the first lap then dropped back to second place on lap two but was quickly back on the rear wheel of the race leader and pressured for the position. He made the pass on the final lap to mark his tenth heat race win of the season. When the gate dropped for the main event, Dungey was third at the first corner and immediately challenged for the lead. He hit the front in lap three and never looked back, turning a series of fast times to increase his gap on the field throughout the rest of the race. He crossed the line an impressing four seconds ahead of the rest of the pack. “I really enjoyed wrapping up the championship last weekend, but I came into this race wanting to continue to win the remainder of the races,†stated Dungey. “I’m really excited that I was able to get another win tonight and am looking forward to the final two races.†Dungey, a Red Bull athlete rides the KTM 450 SX-F machine *** Hill Earns Season Best Finish in 250-class West Series Red Bull KTM Factory rider Justin Hill finished his West Series 250-class bid with an impressive comeback in the main to secure his season’s best result in the final round. He got off to a strong start in his heat race, took an early lead and went on to take the win by three seconds. He was again fast out of the gates in his main event and was fourth around the first corner. Then a rider crashed in front of him and Hill could not avoid him and crashed in the corner. He quickly scrambled back into the action and immediately started putting in faster lap times than the race leader as he moved up through the pack. By the halfway point he was already into sixth place and two laps later he moved into in podium position. He continued to close the gap on the lead rider in the remaining laps and went on to secure his best finish of the season. “It was difficult to come back from that crazy first turn pile-up,†stated Hill. “Even though I didn’t get the win, this was a great ride for me.
