Media Release: Brembo MotoGP Gran Premio Red Bull de la República Argentina Brake Facts

2015-04-17 05:27
Brembo continues its initiative of developing and providing brake facts for each of the 18 races on the MotoGP World Championship calendar. This weekend MotoGP heads to South America and the Gran Premio Red Bull de la República Argentina.

The brand new Termas de Rio Hondo circuit is fairly demanding for the MotoGP braking systems with at least three braking sections characterized by significant decelerations. Particularly critical is the braking at Turn 5: here the bikes go from over 330 km/h to 75 km/h in about 320 meters, forcing the pilots to apply a force on the brake lever equal to 12 kg.

Brembo has developed a dedicated MotoGP site within the official Brembo website. In addition to technical data relative to the braking points of each circuit, this dedicated section also offers race fans countless other fascinating facts about the braking systems created for MotoGP. www.motogp.brembo.com.

The 2015 season marks the 40th Anniversary of Brembo’s first entry into motorsports. Brembo supplied its first racing brake system to Ferrari in 1975 in the Formula One World Championship. Since then, the Italian company has invested heavily in research and development of highly innovative and technological products.
