Monster Energy Kawasaki Team Green Collects 17 Championships at Daytona Amateur Supercross

Following Monster Energy Supercross on Saturday at Daytona International Speedway, Bike Week continued with the Ricky Carmichael Daytona Amateur Supercross on Sunday and Monday. Monster Energy Kawasaki Team Green took to the same track as the pros and collected 17 championships ranging from the KX™65 to the KX™450F. Leading the way was Darian Sanayei who took home the 250 All-Star A/B and 450 A/Pro Sport championships over his top rivals. Team Green won both premier B classes, four mini titles, six vet championships, and the first round of the Women’s Motocross (WMX) Championship.



Top Prospects

Team Green’s Sanayei marked his spot as the top A rider leaving Daytona with two championships and one third place finish. Sanayei got excellent starts in his main events to collect a championship on the KX™250F in the All-Star class, and the top honors on the KX450F in 450 A/Pro Sport. His teammate Mitchell Harrison won his heat race in the 250 All-Star class and he finished runner-up in both Pro Sport classes main events.

“This was a great was to start the 2015 season,” said Sanayei. “I got great starts and I really enjoyed the track at Daytona. Next week we’ll head to Freestone and look to do the same thing.”



Stepping Up

You would never know that Team Green’s top B riders just stepped off mini bikes within the last year. Austin Forkner was one of the fastest riders to hit the track all weekend and had an amazing come-from-behind win in the 250 B championship. He then had a head-to-head battle with his teammate Joey Crown in Schoolboy 2 (13-16), with Crown taking the win, his first championship on the KX250F.



The Bike That Builds Champions

All three KX™ mini bikes made their way to victory lane at Daytona. Lance Kobusch won his first championship in the Super Mini class on the KX™100, while the Bakersfield natives Stilez Robertson and Jett Reynolds took home championships on the KX™85 and Nick Romano won the 65cc (7-9) class on his KX65.



Better with Age

Team Green’s success carried on all the way through the vet classes up the Earl May winning the Masters (50+) championship on his KX450F. Greg Pamart swept three vet championships and John Grewe took home one.



WMX

After finishing runner-up in the 2014 WMX championship, Kylie Fasnacht dominated both motos on her new KX250F to establish her as the No.1 threat for the championship in 2015. Although Team Green’s Hannah Hodges is sitting out the spring nationals due to injury, Gracie Vanhorn rode her Kawasaki to victory lane in the Women’s Amateur (12+) class.



Everything’s Bigger in Texas

The Team Green semi packed up and headed to Freestone, Texas for the Freestone Spring Championship beginning March 18th. Team Green riders will return to a more traditional motocross track that use to be home to the AMA Pro Motocross, and look to continue racking up No.1 plates.
