Team Green Wraps Up 10 Supercross Championships at Winter Olympics

The 43rd Annual Thor Winter Olympics kicked off on Monday with its supercross champions being crowned Wednesday at Gatorback Cycle Park in Gainesville, Florida. Monster Energy Kawasaki Team Green put every KX™ model on the podium to take home 10 supercross championships.

The youngest champion was Jett Reynolds on his Hubert’s Lemonade Team Green KX™65 in the 65cc (7-9) class, followed by Carson Mumford who put his KX™85 on top of the podium in both the 85cc (12-13) Limited class and Mini Sr. (12-15). Garrett Marchbanks led wire-to-wire in Super Mini 1 (12-15) on his KX™100 and finished a very close second in Super Mini 2 (13-16). Reynolds and Mumford also finished second when they weren’t standing atop the podium.

In the big bike classes it was Darian Sanayei who led Team Green as he won 250 and 450 Pro Sport championships. Sanayei was consistently first around the first turn and made the tight supercross track look easy. Accompanying Sanayei with a No.1 plate was Austin Forkner who competed in the 450 B class on his KX™250F and despite a 200cc disadvantage, he won his first championship since moving up from the super mini class. Proof that KX is the bike that builds champions continued throughout the schedule as John Grewe won Senior 45+ on his KX™450F, Greg Pamart in Vet 35+, and Dustin Turner in 450 C.

After the supercross main events were complete on Wednesday, the motocross practice began. On Thursday afternoon, motocross qualifying division races will begin and Team Green plans to continue where they left off in supercross.
