BOL D' OR 24-HOUR WORLD ENDURANCE UPDATE

Suzuki Endurance Racing Team is fighting back at the Bol d'Or 24-Hour World Endurance Championship opening round at Magny-Cours in France after two crashes early on in the race put them at the back of the pack.

The 12-times World Endurance Champions led the race initially and then team rider Anthony Delhalle crashed three hours into the race. After bringing the GSX-R1000 home to the pits for repairs, Vincent Philippe then crashed heavily soon afterwards, was put on a stretcher, then jumped off it - refusing to get into the ambulance - and continued to find the bike and get the damaged machine back to the SERT garage.

New 2013 team rider Julien Da Costa took over with the Le Mans-based trio well-outside the top 30, but after 10 hours, SERT has fought back into ninth position and 14 laps behind leaders SRC Kawasaki - who have led since early race-leader Philippe backed-off the throttle approaching the first hour; and before his first 'Pit-In.'

Top Suzuki team at the 10-hour mark was AM Moto Racing Competition in fifth position, 10 laps down on SRC Kawasaki with a total of 334 laps. Junior Team LMS Suzuki was seventh (332 laps) and then Team R2CL (332) followed by SERT on 330 laps.
