Smiths Racing Team Announce Partnership With Finning UK

The Smiths Racing Team is delighted to announce a new partnership with Finning UK which sees a deal for the remainder of the 2012 season and into 2013.

Finning UK is the number one provider for Caterpillar equipment for the UK and Ireland and is part of Finning International Inc, the world's largest Caterpillar heavy and general equipment dealer.

The company provides exceptional service to customers in a wide variety of markets including waste, construction, recycling, quarrying, agriculture and many more. Through their experienced and highly skilled Power Systems division, they deliver solutions and support to the power generation, marine, industrial and oil and gas markets. Additional brands include MaK and Perkins Marine Power as well as Caterpillar.

The announcement coincides with all four Smiths riders in the Motorpoint British Supersport Championship and Metzeler National Superstock 600 Championship strategically placed going into the final few races of the season having sampled plenty of success so far in 2012.

In the Motorpoint British Supersport Championship, Glen Richards has taken five victories aboard the Smiths Triumph 675 Daytona this season to hold second place in the standings just 9.5 points off the lead. Team-mate Billy McConnell has three wins to his name and occupies third place in the standings whereas Luke Mossey's recent podium finish sees him in sixth place overall. In the Metzeler National Superstock 600 Championship, Johnny Blackshaw posted pole position at the opening round at Brands Hatch and with a podium finish to his credit also, he holds sixth place in the series.

As well as excelling in the British Supersport Championship, the team entered a round of the World Supersport Championship at Donington Park earlier this season and Richards, McConnell and Mossey all scored World Championship points.
