MGM Grand Serves as Host Hotel for Inaugural Monster Energy Cup

Feld Motor Sports® announced today that MGM Grand Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas will serve as the host hotel for the inaugural Monster Energy Cup at Sam Boyd Stadium Saturday, Oct. 15.

As part of a motorsports-packed weekend, including the Monster Energy Cup and the IZOD Indycar World Championships, fans have the opportunity to select between two promotional hotel packages. For the Monster Energy Cup, fans can utilize the Monster Energy Cup room rate starting at $120/night and call MGM Grand home for the weekend. This offer expires on September 7, 2011.

Or, by booking through the Indycar room block available at MGM Resorts International properties (ARIA, Vdara, Bellagio, MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay, The Mirage, Monte Carlo, New York-New York, Luxor, Excalibur and Circus Circus), fans will enjoy the highly anticipated Monster Energy Cup on Saturday night and receive two free tickets to Sunday’s IZOD Indycar World Championships. The two room offers currently are available at www.MonsterEnergyCup.com.

“MGM Resorts is home to many world-class properties and having the iconic MGM Grand host the riders, teams, industry partners and fans shows the resort’s enthusiasm about the inaugural Monster Energy Cup that will feature the world’s top supercross/motocross racers,” said Dave Prater, director of supercross, Feld Motor Sports.

As an added benefit for staying at MGM Grand, shuttles will run Saturday noon-5:30 p.m. from MGM Grand to Sam Boyd Stadium. Following the race, shuttles will run from Sam Boyd Stadium back to MGM Grand 10:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m. Shuttle passes are $10 per person/each way and can be purchased in advance at www.unlvtickets.com or at the shuttles the day of the race.

To kick off the festivities for both the Monster Energy Cup and IZOD Indycar World Championships, beginning Thursday, Oct. 13 Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino will host the Fan Village, a unique off-track fan entertainment hub featuring interactive games, demonstrations, autograph sessions, photo opportunities and more.
