Xtinction race report

This past weekend Yamaha/Machine Racing’s Brian “Wojo” Wojnarowski took on Xtinction, the Canadian hard enduro race in Patricia, Alberta, for the second year in a row.
In qualifying Wojo finished 13th, good enough to be on the first line of riders in the Le Mans style start for the main. “After the second lap, I was really starting to feel comfortable. I started really pushing on those last two laps, and I was feeling pretty good.”
When it came time for the main, 40 riders were advanced and split into three lines of riders, with the top riders going off first. Off the shot, Wojo did well, battling among a pack of riders, trading positions until a few costly mistakes started breaking the pack apart.
When all was said and done, Wojo finished 16th in the main.
“In this type of event I need to minimize mistakes,” said Wojo. “I did my best to do that today, but I still made some that cost me big time... There were spots where I was very clean and rode well, I just need to work on the big mistakes. When I would get stuck and have to push and lift my bike, it drained me. I was working hard and had cramps in places I have never had before.”
