The first European Supercrooss Indoor race honors its thirty years

It will be a memorable edition, intense and all to enjoy from the beginning till the end.
For the thirty years of Genova’s Supercross Off Road Pro Racing wanted to make it in a great way, offering to the Italian fans a track that rise up the occasion, originated by the expert Armando Dazzi and an intense program load expectation due to the qualified range of riders that will challenge inside the Genova’s Palasport.

Event’s top of the range is the MX1 World Championship Antonio Cairoli, ready to assert himself with his official KTM SX-F 350 also in the indoor artificial tracks and ready to challenge the Americans and Europeans who will line up behind the starting grid of this special edition of Genova’s Superbowl. Starting with Trey Canard, leader of the National 250 which so him graduated Champion at the end of a very close racing series. The rider of the Honda GEICO Powersports Team will cross the ocean with the seventeen teammate deputy champion of the SX Lites Costa Est Justin Barcia and with the everlasting Kevin Windham, second placed in Supercross behind Ryan Dungey and the only one to have broken the Suzuki’s winning stripe in National 450.

Recent record-man of the Motocross of Nations in Denver with the teamates Dungey and Andrew Short, Canard is determined to close the season pointing to the top step of the podium at Genova’s Supercross.

“I am extremely excited – said the Oklahoma’s rider – not only because I’ll fight with valid rivals but also for the fact that apart from the travel in Canada for me is the first time I leave the United States. Think that I will cross the ocean make me fell excited.”

Have you got an idea of what you’ll find in Genova?
“I think so, I watched some movies of the last edition and it seemed and exciting race. The track seemed different from those we have in America, but the differences are not so much and I suppose will be a enjoyable race, I’m looking forward to come and race.”

Do you think you are more skilled in motocross or supercross?
“When a schampionship of motocross ends I’m loaded for a supercross one, and now that the supercross is ending I’m loaded for the motocross Championship, that’s why for me there is no difference. Are both challenge riding a bike, and for me this is the most important thing. Whether are natural or artificial I don’t matter, the important is to be competitive and enjoy it.”

Your strengths and weaknesses?
“My strong point is my stubbornness, I don’t ever give up, I do my best from the start of the competition till the end of the race. Probabily my weak point is my difficulty with overtaking, but I’m working on it and getting better constantly.”

What are your plans for next year?
“I’ll race with Official American Honda Team, I’m glade of it, I think is the best team around.”

When did you become a professional rider?
“When I was sixteen and I raced in the National”

Did you get more satisfaction by winning your first title in 2008 or this year?
“Probabily winning this year gave me more satisfaction because I had to fight more. I really enjoyed racing with Pourcel, we had some good battles always in fair play, we respect each other and is beautiful having such a rival.”

Your home town is Oklahoma, a country where there isn’t a tradition of cross.
“Practically only Guy Cooper and Robbie Reynard made their mark in motocross. Motocross is not widespread, probably because the tracks are few and the winter is too cold to ride the bike. That’s why I go to California when I began my training for the Supercross season, and I come back home during the summer.”

Have or have ever had an idol in motocross?
“Yes, the first was Robbie Reynard, because is a local hero, in my country. Then Richy Carmichael, I believe that every American rider is a fan of him as he is known throughout the world.”

What are your ambitions?
“Leave a mark in the motocross world, be know as a good person and possibly as a champion”

Have you got an hobby?
“I like sports in general, but apart from whose who I practice for training when I have time I love driving the cars that are used to build motocross tracks.”

What do you like and what you don’t like in life?
“I’m happy as it is now, I take things as they come and I think that if something bad happens you can change it into something better.”
