ROCKSTAR TEKA SUZUKI MX1 PHOTOS2010-03-24 07:122010 sees the Rockstar Teka Suzuki World MX1 team renew their efforts on the FIM MX1 World Championship with the factory RM-Z 450 and a fresh face with which to challenge for their second crown in the category since its inception in 2004 - and here are the first official high-resolution images for world media and Suzuki race fans to download. The Belgian squad is one of the most decorated and high-profile teams in the Grand Prix paddock and for 2010 continues its all-Belgian line-up with the addition of national champion and 2009-breakthrough talent Clement Desalle to partner Steve Ramon as the 2007 World Champion commences his fifth year with the Lommel-based unit. Thanks to their technical prowess with Suzuki's immense four-stroke technology in the fuel-injected RM-Z450 WS, the crew has started each campaign since the bike’s introduction in 2004 as favourites for race wins and World Championship glory. Former 250cc Grand Prix winner Sylvain Geboers has become an integral part of the sport since his heyday as a rider in the 1960s. The Belgian, now in his ‘60s, successfully moved into team management (setting up Geboers Racing Promotion in 1984) after retiring from racing and has directed Suzuki's Grand Prix efforts for a quarter of a century. Geboers has tutored the likes of Stefan Everts, Marnicq Bervoets, Joel Smets, Josh Coppins, Mickael Pichon, Greg Albertyn and Kevin Strijbos as well as his brother Eric in the 1980s. Eric Geboers has been connected with the team for the last three seasons in a managerial role. The first ever winner of the triple crown (125, 250 and 500cc titles) brings a wealth of experience to the operation alongside his older sibling. With the RM-Z250 gaining suitable profile in 2009 thanks to the exciting emergence of Ken Roczen, GRP has also filled an integral technical role for the Teka Suzuki Europe World MX2 team and will continue to do so in 2010.
