TEAM SAN MANUEL YAMAHA'S JOSH HILL ROUNDS OUT TOP TEN WITH NINTH PLACE FINISH

2010-03-08 18:44
The Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, made its ninth stop of the 2010 series, Saturday evening at the world-renowned Daytona Beach International Speedway. Team San Manuel Yamaha's Josh Hill brought in another top ten finish taking ninth on Daytona's tough supercross and motocross type track. Hill now sits third in the overall championship points race with 162 points.

Hill started the race evening running Heat Race 2, and finishing third for the direct transfer to the main event. Teammate and current Supercross Champ, James Stewart, continues to be on the mend recuperating from wrist surgery.

In the Main event Hill was strong out of the gate and even after a red flag restart Hill pulled a quick second behind race leader Ryan Villapoto. Hill held his second place spot for several laps until he was passed by a charging Ryan Dungey. The long laps, deep ruts and overall tough conditions took their toll on Hill who still powered through the 20 laps to finish ninth.

After the difficult Daytona race, Hill had this to say, “This was a tough race for me and this style track is always hard to settle into. Once again, I rode the best that I could and I owe a world of thanks to everyone at Team San Manuel.”
