Nagl on pole for MX1 GP in Uddevalla

Red Bull KTM Factory Racing's Max Nagl on Saturday won the qualifying race to set himself up in pole position for Sunday's MX1 GP on the Uddevalla circuit in Sweden.

Max got away in third place in the early part of the race but had no trouble in overtaking the two front runners on a circuit very similar to that in Latvia in the last round. The riders tackled a track that had a loose gravely surface with a hard base, which, during the course of Saturday's track activities presented more lines as the day's program progressed.

Max Nagl: "I am on pole and this week it wasn't difficult like last week. The bike went well, it was easy to ride here and although two guys were in front of me at the start, I didn't have any trouble passing them. Now my goal for tomorrow is to be on the podium and to pick up as many points as possible."

Nagl is currently in second place in the championship standings behind Toni Cairoli and stands to reduce the gap if he gets away to his characteristic lightning start and finishes with a strong result in Sunday's races.

The second KTM factory rider, Jonathan Barragan of Team Silver Action is currently recovering from injury.
