US Motocross Lites Series: 8th round New Berlin, NY2008-07-22 06:15The MDK KTM Teams had another great weekend at the eighth round of the AMA Motocross Championships with four top ten finishes. Martin Davalos made a podium appearance for the third week in a row when he secured the 3rd place spot in the second Lites moto. Although he was happy to finish on the podium again, he would end up 10th overall for the day due to a mechanical failure during the first moto. His teammate Matt Goerke also had a great day. Goerke started in 7th position in the first moto but quickly moved his way into 3rd. He held on to 3rd until he slid out after the halfway point and recovered in enough time to take 7th. In moto two, Goerke found himself out front again, but after losing his goggles a few laps into the race he began to fade as his vision became blurry. He finished the second moto in 9th. His two top ten finishes earned him 6th overall. The final two MDK KTM Lites riders, Ryan Sipes and Justin Brayton, struggled with starts in the first moto and both had to work their way up through the bottom twenty to finish 13th and 17th respectively. In moto two, Sipes started near the front while Brayton came around in 11th. Sipes stayed consistent and finished 6th earning 9th overall. Brayton had to pull off to get new goggles which set him back to 22nd. He eventually caught up to 15th passing Mike Brown on the last corner of the last lap. His 17-15 scores earned him 17th overall.
