A new chapter in motorcycling history begins this weekend as the BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2 team makes its much-anticipated debut in the Moto2 World Championship at the Thai GP in Buriram. This marks a bold new challenge for both Yamaha and Pramac Racing, as the team expands its footprint into the intermediate class.

Pramac Racing, which made its MotoGP debut in 2002 and has since risen to become one of the most successful teams in recent years, is now doubling its efforts by entering Moto2 with riders Tony Arbolino and Izan Guevara. Adding to the excitement, with Gino Borsoi serving as Team Director, former MotoGP rider Alex De Angelis will make his World Championship debut as team manager, bringing invaluable experience and leadership to the squad.

This project strengthens Pramac Racing‘s position as a key incubator for young talent, providing a clear path for promising riders to eventually step up to the MotoGP class. However, starting a new team comes with its challenges: new management, new mechanics, new riders, and even a new bike—the Boscoscuro machine, which neither Arbolino nor Guevara had ridden before. Despite these hurdles, the team has demonstrated steady progress throughout the winter testing period, both in understanding the bike and in building strong team chemistry.

As the lights go out in Buriram, the BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2 team is ready to take on this exciting adventure, with eyes set on fighting for top positions in the championship.
ALEX DE ANGELIS

Team Manager, BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2
"It feels incredible to be here now, making my debut with BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2 as Team Manager with the 2024 MotoGP Riders‘ World Championship-winning team. On one hand, I feel the weight of responsibility, but on the other, I feel the honor and privilege of working alongside Gino Borsoi, from whom I can only learn and absorb as much as possible at this stage. BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2 is a completely new team, true, but expectations are already high. The fact that we have the luxury of fielding two riders like Arbolino and Guevara today is because they themselves, beyond their immense and undeniable talent, recognize that this is a team with everything needed to succeed. That includes the Boscoscuro bike, which won last year‘s Moto2 Riders‘ World Championship and, despite some small and expected issues in the first tests, offers a highly competitive technical package. As for the riders, I couldn‘t have asked for better ones to work with. I already knew Tony well—he also knows my story, and the mutual respect between us has always been strong. With Izan, however, we started from scratch, as we had never met before. But in just two test sessions, we‘ve learned to understand each other, and most importantly, to trust one another. A clear example: in the first tests, when he was sitting in his box describing his sensations, he would always look at his technician. But little by little, he started turning to me as well, explaining what he feels on the bike and even seeking my input and approval."
TONY ARBOLINO

BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2 Rider
"I couldn't wait to get started, it's been a very long winter and I've been dreaming of this moment more and more. I'm as motivated as ever, but I can see that the same goes for the team, who has worked hard since the Jerez test to understand what needs to be improved both on the bike and in my riding style. I feel charged up and confident, I think Thailand is a great track to start the championship on, I have great memories here and I will try to use all the weapons we have to get a good result and take the BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2 team as far as possible. I really believe that we have everything to do well from this first race."
IZAN GUEVARA

BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2 Rider
"Finally, the first GP of the season is here! We are starting with great excitement, especially after such a strong preseason. I've been training hard, and the Jerez test was key in helping us build a solid foundation. We've put in a lot of work and we are clear on how to approach this season's start. There‘s a lot of motivation, and we are eager to translate the work we‘ve done into solid results on the track."
