The Buriram International Circuit, also formally known as the Chang International Circuit, will host the first ever Thai round of the MotoGP Championship.
Situated in the town of Buriram, approximately 400km northeast from the country’s capital, Bangkok, the Asian circuit designed by German architect Hermann Tilke, incorporates twelve turns, with some of the longest straights on the 2018 calendar.
PETRONAS Sprinta Racing riders Adam Norrodin and Ayumu Sasaki will return to the circuit which they both raced at during their time competing in the Asia Talent Cup.
Following his strong performance at the Aragon Grand Prix, Adam Norrodin is eager to get back on track and continue building on his fighting form.
Teammate Ayumu Sasaki will return to action this weekend after breaking his hand in Misano just three weeks ago. The Japanese rider is eager to get back on board his Honda NSF250RW and back up to speed in time for his home Grand Prix, commencing on the 19th October.

“Thailand is a new track for most people, so it will be a steep learning curve in terms of bike set-up. This is what we will have to focus on from the very beginning; finding the right settings for this circuit. For sure it will not be easy and we are going to have to stay calm and be a little patient to make the best bike we can for the race. It’s the same for everyone though, so let’s see who gets to grip with it the quickest. The result from Aragon has certainly filled me with extra confidence and excitement for this next round. I’m really happy with what we did in Aragon and I hope that we can continue to build on the progress we made there. For sure I need some more good points this weekend but I feel really positive that we can achieve our targets.”

“I’m very excited to race in Thailand, especially after having to miss the last race at Aragon. Since then I have come back home to Japan and had more therapy on my hand; it’s feeling a lot better, so hopefully it won’t hinder me too much. For sure I won’t be 100% physically, but I’m going to give it everything I have. We will have a lot of work to do from Friday onwards; we need to do as many laps as possible to really find the right set-up. I really hope that I can pick up where I left off in Misano; I felt so good on the bike there. It’s so important to me to finish these last races strong.”
