SIC RACING TEAM SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETE JEREZ TEST

. By Bikeland Staff

SIC Racing Team concluded the third and final day of official testing at the Circuito de Jerez today, with riders Adam Norrodin and Ayumu Sasaki finishing 21st and 19th respectively, in the combined times.

With consistently hot conditions gracing the entire test, Adam Norrodin continued to take full advantage of his improved set-up on board the #7 machine. Gaining more and more confidence the eighteen-year-old relentlessly pushed to find his limit, achieving his quickest lap of the weekend as the chequered flag came out in the final session.

Regaining his rhythm Ayumu Sasaki was able to use his final day at the Spanish circuit to further advance his work on board on the Honda NSF250RW finishing the day in an impressive third place, just 0.633s off the top of the timesheets.

With the start of the World Championship rapidly approaching, the riders will return to action at the Losail International Circuit in just one weeks’ time, with another trio of test days commencing on Friday 17th March.

Johan Stigefelt – Team Manager

“We’ve had three good days here at Jerez; we needed this time to gain more knowledge and give the riders time to really dial into their bikes. We tried a few things but in the end we came back to a similar set-up to what both riders had in Malaysia.
Today the team worked very well and you could visibly see Ayumu and Adam gaining confidence. In the last session we really pushed for the faster times, which both riders achieved; maybe we wanted a little bit more but overall the average was good. The most important thing is that we leave here with both riders feeling more confident on the bike and having made positive steps forward. It’s only one week to the Qatar test, so we’re really looking forward to continuing our progress there.”

#7 ADAM NORRODIN

“Today I really focussed on making a better lap time. My bike felt good from the start, so I knew I just had to concentrate on my riding and to push as hard as possible. We improved immediately in the morning session and then in the afternoon we tried again with the new tyres. I knew this was the time to make my best lap, which I did. I was on another fast lap just before the end of the session but I was pushing over my limit and in turn five I just lost the front. Luckily it was only a small crash; for sure I would have improved my time again had this not happened. Overall I’m happy with how this test has gone. I have a much better feeling on the bike and we have learned a lot that will help us this season. Now we can head to Qatar prepared for the final pre-season test.”

#71 AYUMU SASAKI

“In first practice it was difficult to find a good place to attack so we didn’t improve our lap time straight away but I felt a lot happier on my bike. The next two sessions I just tried to push harder and harder and when I could I would follow the faster riders to learn from them. In the end we leave the test with a good set-up that I’m confident I can improve on in Qatar.”
