Good Times - May '08 The Yamaha makes a Gap trip

Over 1600 Interstate Miles on the truck, over 1000 mountain road miles on the bike. (Except for Tina wadding up her R6 and breaking 5 vertebrae, it was an excellent trip and doc says she is going to be fine)

Met a Group at Deal's Gap for the weekend and did all the usual rides there, then by myself drove the truck to Hickory NC and unloaded, went through the extreme parts of the NC mountains in non-tourist areas such as Jefferson, Wilkesboro, My Airy, Blowing Rock, Boone, Sparta and such. Stayed off the main roads and on the smaller roads where the curves are and the people aren't. Rode by day and met up with special friends I know from living in the areas by evening.

Ramps got me 17.8 MPG, (pulling my one bike on a trailer in November I got 13 MPG)
