Full throttle!

Controls - everything is in the same place, but there are operable differences:
Right cluster: Engine stop/run/start are combined into a single switch, what would normally be a start button is now a 'mode' button.
Left cluster: Turn signal is like a tiny thumbstick, versus the usual slider type switch, due to space constrains. Takes some getting used to.
Brakes: Feel strong...very strong...no, I think I could stop a semi with these brakes! At the same time, great modulation.
Clutch: Firm lever effort, butter smooth engagement.
Transmission: The normal Kawi clunk is very light. The dogleg tranny is a little different in operation when coming up to a stoplight...The neutral seeking operation is only operable from second to first, so my usual habit of slowing down in first, pulling the clutch in and then coming to a stop and going to neutral won't work. In other words, you have to be going from second to first.
Things I still have to dabble with:
Seat position: I have plenty of room, so want to see if I can move the bolsters forward.
Brake lever position: I have big man-hands, but it's a bit of a stretch to grab the brake lever right now.
Riding experience (first ride)
One thing that's immediately evident is that the power is always there. Think of a deep pool of torque under you, something that you can easily dip into. Throttle uptake is immediate and the FI is absolutely spot on. The of the throttle as a rheostat, and you get the idea. I don't think I've ever ridden a bike with this linear of a powerband (within the constraints of the break-in). The bike feels really really well balanced. Friendly even at urban traffic speeds. Yah, I know it's not the lightest thing out there but it wears it's weight well!
Thoughts:
Yes, the bike has a rain mode. But I don't know if those tires do!
Seriously, it looks like someone said "Oh btw...we need a treaded tire for DOT certification..." *someone produces a pocket knife* "Job done!"
