Decision Day: Friday, December 19th! Kawasaki stops taking orders for the H2 and H2R on December 19th. I'm sitting squarely on the fence about the decision to place an order. My current fleet includes a 93 ZX11, 01 ZRX 1200R, 09 Concours 14, and 12 ZX14R. Would love to add the H2, but the lack of information is troubling: No demo rides, no press introductions, no ability to even sit on the bike at the travelling Cycle World bike shows, and no ability to eyeball it at the local dealerships.
Question for those who took the leap of faith and placed an order: What was the deciding factor that got you over the hump to lay down your hard-earned cash for the H2? Or if you didn't order, what made you decide not to order? Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

Yipper skipper....I own a 2000 12r and 2012 14r. I don`t need 2 bikes and owning 3 bikes never.I just don`t ride that much. About 5 to 6 k a year. I am totally happy with 1 bike.....

I talked with some folks about this. The bike is a demonstration of technology, of what KHI can do when using expertise from the various divisions. There's two schools of thought:
1. This is a halo product, never really meant to generate income. Think Ferarri FXX or any of the other exotics that are only produced for a very limited time and in extremely limited quantities. As such, the real value in this motorcycle is keeping it as pristine and original as possible as something truly collectable. Possibly even keeping it at zero miles. As such, if you are looking for something to ride on a regular basic, you may very well be served better with your currents motorcycles.
2. If the above scenario proves to be untrue, and let's say KHI decides next year (2016) to put it into regular production, then you have some collectibility as the first model year, but likely would be well served in riding it and enjoying it as much as you wanted. The intrinsic value is still there, you are enjoying a wonderful unique motorcycle.
3. I've kind of gone all over the place over the years, from Land Speed Record ZX12Rs and Endurance Road Racing ZX12Rs sitting beside RC51s and SV650s for roadracing, to just a single motorcycle that I can take just about anywhere (WR450F) and enjoy, with the exception of the interstate (80MPH here in Idaho). I'm pretty certain anyone who hasn't ordered one by now can't rationalize the price or purchase, and that's ok, I'm certain they are going to be enjoying the bikes they have this riding season. I'm still on the fence about going back to the dealer and adding an H2R order to my existing H2 order.

Thoughtful response Swift..Thank You! I admire the enthusiasts who can afford the FXX. How great to show up at racetracks around the world, with your FXX delivered and maintained by Ferrari.

I honestly don't think they will. Remember, they aren't starting up or shutting down a production line, these are hand built by a single craftsman/technician at Akashi.
