Bent & broken wheels on my VFR1200F
I was on my way to the Rock Store on Saturday moving along the 101 westbound going past the 405 interchange @ 75 mph in the left lane when a cager tried to occupy the same space as me and my VFR1200F.
Since it is not possible for two objects to occupy the same space at the same time, I had to duck & cover. I swerved hard leaning to the left, there was no where to go on the left and I hit an obstruction in the road that almost highsided me standing my Honda straight up and almost ejecting me from the bike but, I held on and shook it off continueing my ride to the Rock Store where I ate breakfast and went up the hill to Camp Avalanche to hang out for about an hour then go home.
The next day, Sunday I was back at Camp A when Paul the photographer said, "Wow, do you feel that?" pointing a dent in my rear rim.
"Holy shit man, I did not even look at my wheels after yesterday's incident and this is the 1st I am seeing of the damage Paul. Thanks for pointing that out to me."
The next day, Monday I was out on a road call in Burbank @ Disney Studios to check a tire that had a nail and a screw in it but, the tire was not flat.
While I was there, my buddy pointed at my front rim and said "Damn it man, what did you hit?" That was when I saw the front wheel damage.
On Tuesday I sent the wheels out to Pasadena to have them fixed and they came back yesterday with the rear wheel repaired but, the front wheel is junk. {No charge for repairs since dude watched the front wheel crack as he was trying to straighten it}
I ordered a new rim and it is going to cost me about $500.00 to replace it.
I am taking an estimate to my lawyer so he can present it to Caltrans and get me paid for the labor, replacements & repairs.
Here she is still in my garage still off the ground.

This sucks and I was stranded at home for a couple of days because my CBX was down with carb problems I could not get sorted out until yesterday but, I did finally get them fixed and my CBX is now my main ride again until the VFR is fixed & rolling again.

sucks man!, beautiful bike and rims at that... I would have has the caltrans pay for both rims to be replaced regardless if it was fixable. hopefully ur ride is up and running again....my will be finally on the road this weekend, so i know how u feel.

I got the front wheel on the bike this past Friday and then that night the ECU took a shit on me.
Honda replaced the ECU under warranty and I got the bike back today, she runs better than she has since August last year when the 1st of 13 ignition failures happened.
I do love my VFR but, I was getting highly angry at Honda for not taking care of business when I said she was fucked up last year. It is finally taken care of but, it took long enough.
Here is a picture of my pride, it is mind blowing to know they are actually both mine.
The brand new, freshly installed by me front wheel.
Made in Japan but, stored in Los Angeles at the American Honda parts warehouse and only took two days to get to me after I ordered it.
