Anybody Smoke Any Sport Bikes On their Gen 2 V Max???
I just purchased a used 09 V Max and all I can say is wow!!!! My last bike was a 06 ZX-14 Ninja and I gotta say that the straight line acceleration is very close between the two bikes. Just thought I'd ask has anybody here w/ a Gen 2 V Max surprised any sportbike guys by taking them out on the V Max. I can see this bike out accelerating a lot of 600's and even a few 1000's. I'd be interested to here the stories.

Are you sure about your old bike, was it a ZX14 or was it a ZX14 NINJA?
If it really was a "ninja" then they might be close. if it was "just" a 14, then yes, your Vmin would definetly give it a run.

All I can say is that they felt very close. Both accelerate so hard that I have a hard time holding on. VERY Impressive!!! I think it would be fun to surprise some of those kids on the older 00's and 1000's. It could happen. Trust me. I'll be smiling all the way.

hell , you might even set a record in the 2000cc class.

If you can drop 100lbs off the bike then you might have a chance. That's the way it should have been made IMHO

I've yet to see one of these at the track, or on the street, for that matter. They seem to be pretty rare around here...

I'd wager to ride against a leaner man on a VMax since my 14's got a higher power to weight ratio - as long as bike/rider weights combined equalled out, I'd run 'em as I make an AWESOME counterweight to fight off the wheelies............I can count on 1 hand how many VMax's I've seen around my side of Ohio...........and that's been over the last 23 years of riding/driving............1st year VMax was what? '85? Not a HUGE seller in comparison to fairly new ZX14 but then again it's a muscle bike not a canyon carver, but I do consider it part of an elite class bike since aferall, they're not puny 'lil 600's either!

why don't you bring your bike to Maxton and take the naked record ? that should be easy enough....
