The new z1000 and zx10 look realy good!
Here's my beef though- why wouldn't Kawasaki use the Nissin brake calipers from the zx14 but keeps bringing those Tokicos out of the trash bin? WTF... Why does every zx10 owner have to put up with lousy brakes and resort to a lot of top $ aftermarket stuff to improve their braking to at least average.
I owned a zx10 with crappy brakes and 5 years later they still don't get- they have the best oem brake system on any production motorcycle with the 14 but are by far the worst in the liter class.
And just in case... put those brakes on the z1000 too- why? You can clearly see that the new z has the exact same set of brake rotors as the 14 ( with the monster 250 mm rear) but it doesn't have the Nissin calipers.
Job well done, for the most part...

Also, what are those marks on the side of the 10R?? They look like some CBR tire tracks from being run over (repeatedly) on the track...

But I wouldn't mind an all black zx10 since they fixed the headlights.
If GMD can't straighten my 750 frame, I might get one.

Looks like Kawasaki is addressing the heat issues on the C14,not sure about the Z1000 kinda reminds of the B-King and that is one homely bike, maybe it looks better in person. As far as the ZX10 goes I hope they do things better than Suzuki that way Kawasaki can get out of the hole they have dug for themselves in the marketing world.

z1000 (in person) looks like what the bking SHOULD have been - seriously - it's an awesome looking bike and I had hoped that would translate through the video... compact and pretty much wicked looking

Why is kawi spending money on a turd like the Z1000 ? I never see one on the street, track or even bike night... The two dealers here can't sell the darn things .. BUT kawi kills the zrx1200 in the US market and i see them everywhere , street, track and bike nights ..The two dealers here sold every darn one of them the ordered as fast as they came in .. I don't get mother Kawi ....

good thing you don't work in product design!
If i did we would have a ZRX1400 and not some wimpy under powered Z1000 ... .....What the hell is that weak kneeded Z1000 going to fight on the street anyway ? Maybe a Honda CB200 or Honda 400 automatic ?

I'm not sure how some here came to the conclusion that the 1050 cc z1000 is underpowered.
I'm sure it lays down as much as 04-05 zx10 and that's plenty to say the least for anything but drag racing.
I wish there were some zx14 owners around me that could join a group ride in the mountains and see what
the "underpowered" smaller bikes (including my 750!) could do against a zx14.
Not to mention track days where you can't keep up with a newer 600 for more than 3 turns!
The new z should have great ergos too- I will take one for a test ride as soon as they show up in my local dealerships.
