I'm not sure how some here came to the conclusion that the 1050 cc z1000 is underpowered.
I'm sure it lays down as much as 04-05 zx10 and that's plenty to say the least for anything but drag racing.
I wish there were some zx14 owners around me that could join a group ride in the mountains and see what
the "underpowered" smaller bikes (including my 750!) could do against a zx14.
Not to mention track days where you can't keep up with a newer 600 for more than 3 turns!
The new z should have great ergos too- I will take one for a test ride as soon as they show up in my local dealerships.

It's ugly as hell, regardless of the engine.

I think many will say that the Triumph Speed Triple is ugly.
And even many more will say that about our beloved 14s... you get my point.

Is anyone goning to buy one to race drags or twisty stuff ? Hell no !! It a friggen street fighter ...Goofy looks and under powered .....I'm sure it will sell good overseas like the Bking ..

The Connie is more rounded, looks good still...I would love to take it for a ride...

The z1000 I think looks better than the b-king & im sure the stunt guys will like it, does look like a Transformer...lol

The ZX10 headlights also look like a Transformer...lol, But I like it.....As for the graphics, it looks like some guy just learned how to make stickers with his new graphics computer by put his initial all over the side fairing I hope they didnt put clear coat on those amateur graphics!!!

Yes i'll comment and i'm sure you will not like what i have to say ..
I have wanted a Connie from the first day i saw one .. I think it's one of the best bikes on the market and it's priced right ..As soon as i can put some cash together i'm going to grab one .. I'm seeing left over c14s for 9k and used low mile ones for 8k .. The only thing i wish it came with is a back rest for the old lady ..I just can't find one damn thing i dislike about the bike ..

I agree... If i were going to buy a touring bike the Connie would definitely be it. I've seen one in san diego with a good rider on it mop up some sport bikes in the twisties. Given, the guy is incredible... but still. it's pretty impressive to see that bike move the way that it does. They're also very comfy and have room for all kinds of farkles to make the trip more enjoyable . Sure as hell would have beat my bike for 1650 miles in 3 days in mid june from NE texas to San diego.

I wonder if the designer of the Kawasaki's is a guy inspired by Alien vs Predator? Don't get me wrong I own a 2009 ZX 14 SE and I love it all the way around but the designer needs to get his head examined for the new look of the 2008-2009 and possibly 2010 ZX 10r for these designs. I think the best design they did was the 2005-06 model. Those were perfect they should've left the front alone and focused more on chassis, transmission and engine compression. Kaw's have always been strong bikes just needed some work in some areas is all JMO...

New Connie is nice. But it would set too much. The 14 or my old Vette has my attention....... for now. lol

Fish did you snap the pic's. If so, still have the Canon EOS 5D Mk II ? Wife is still learing all the options. :-)

sure does good HD movies. Great camera.

The new z1000 and zx10 look realy good!

Here's my beef though- why wouldn't Kawasaki use the Nissin brake calipers from the zx14 but keeps bringing those Tokicos out of the trash bin? WTF... Why does every zx10 owner have to put up with lousy brakes and resort to a lot of top $ aftermarket stuff to improve their braking to at least average.
I owned a zx10 with crappy brakes and 5 years later they still don't get- they have the best oem brake system on any production motorcycle with the 14 but are by far the worst in the liter class.
And just in case... put those brakes on the z1000 too- why? You can clearly see that the new z has the exact same set of brake rotors as the 14 ( with the monster 250 mm rear) but it doesn't have the Nissin calipers.

Job well done, for the most part...

Arent those the Tokico Monoblocks? They appear to be the same ones used on the 08+ Honda CBR's and they feel good to me. Previous Tokico like the ones one my 08 Gixxer 750 is crap though....

I think the new Z1000 looks nice, i like it better then the previous gen models. When i first started motorcycling i didn't really care much for naked bikes, but they are starting to growing on to me. I like that New Ducati 796, the new Z1000, Aprilia Shiver, Triumph Speed/Street Triples, they all look like fantastic bikes to own while being very comfortable on them all day. These aint no drag bikes, these are just general commuting street bikes with sport bike abilities and are fun to ride. It seems naked bikes don't appeal to as many American's as they do with British/European markets. One day i will buy me a nice naked bike.
